Guest guest
Hi- I had a first salivary test done ages ago that was odd (I took a nap in the middle of the day that apparently screwed up the results!) - and I have a new test result now. My doctor said I should work up to 6 isocort a day, but I am confused about dosing. It seems the recommendation is to dose according to your natural cortisol rhythm, i.e. most in the morning with decreasing doses during the day. But in my case, my salivary cortisol is right in the middle of the ref. range in the am, and the midday and afternoon labs fall beneath the reference range. 8am - 15.4 (12-22) 12pm - 2.6 (4-8) 4pm - 1.9 (3-7) 12am - 1.1 (1-3) So should my morning cortisol be the highest dose? Or should I not dose in the early am at all? I got my isocort dose up to 2 - 2 - 2, and I have found that if I take three or more isocort at once I get a big headache - but I have only tried the dose of three in the early am when my cortisol level is actually ok. I followed the doctor's instructions and after I got up to 6 isocort a day I started on armour, and am now on 1/2 grain twice a day. My hair has stopped falling out (thankfully), but I am still exhausted all the time, and would appreciate any input on dosing this stuff. Many thanks,
