Guest guest
My background -- Currently on NO thyroid or adrenal meds/supplements. many typical hypothyroid, adrenal fatigue symptoms Jan08 TSH 1.08 (range .4-4.5) ordered saliva test Feb 3, 08 cortisol 7-8am 14 (13-24 nM) cortisol 11-noon 3 (5-10 nM) DEPRESSED cortisol 4-5 pm 3 (3-8 nM) cortisol 11- mid 3 (1-4 nM) Cortisol burden 23 (23-42) DHEA 1 (3-10 ng/ml) DEPRESSED fTSH 49 (26-85 nlU/mL) fT4 0.16 LOW (0.17-0.42 ng/dl) fT3 0.22 Borderline low(0.28-1.10 pg/ml) TPO Negative Estriadol 8 (Luteal: 7-20 pg/ml) Progesterone 358(Luteal: 65-500) Free Testosterone 8 (8-20 pg/ml) I made an appointment with an osteopath/endo and have been patiently waiting to go in and doing research on the tests to ask for in the meantime. It was recommended to ask for ACTH stim, aldosterone, renin, etc... to test for pituitary issues. Thursday evening I began getting a rash on my face which has gotten worse and worse and now (Sat afternoon) is all over my face and neck (and scalp too I suspect from the itching). I think it is hives. Tiny little bumps and splotchy redness and mild swelling. I am taking Benadryl but it doesn't seem to be helping much and just knocks me out. My DH wants me to go see " a doctor " about it. I am very afraid that this is getting worse and a normal doc is going to want me on steroids to help it. I'm very scared that if I do, that I won't be able to get off of them and I won't get the tests I really need or will have to wait even longer to get in. So I am resisting going to the doc. Could these hives be getting worse because of my low cortisol? I had the shakes and was lightheaded this morning when under some extra stress (Girl Scout cookie booth confusion). Should I wait this out till Thursday when I go see the endo? UGH. Why now when I'm sooo close to finally getting tests and help for all these awful symptoms(hopefully)! Any advice?
