Margery, are you snapping the 25mcg tablet? I am having the same problem with splitting with a pill cutter...too much waste. I am not splitting into 4 parts just 2 and I cannot see how I would be able to split with my fingers. Any tricks?VeniziaSubject: Re: T3 dosing / dividing pillsTo: RT3_T3 Date: Thursday, July 15, 2010, 2:12 PM

I have better luck just snapping them into (roughly) 4 equal pieces with my fingers than using a pill cutter, which seems to more crush them than cut them.

tricks?

The 25mcg Grossman are scored in half and easy to break with fingers.

The Aventis are a little larger and scored in quarters but much more

expensive

Mine are scored also but they seem a little small for me to grab and snap. We shall see!VeniziaSubject: Re: T3 dosing / dividing pillsTo: RT3_T3 Date: Thursday, July 15, 2010, 5:01 PM

Yes, it's the 25mcg tablet. Mine are scored down the middle, I just try and snap along that score line. (I need my reading glasses for this!) I usually get two reasonably even halves (not perfect though). My pill splitter just crushes them into crumbs.

When I have pills that crumble, I wet them slightly with my tongue and then they are easire to split. I guess being a bit wet makes the outside less crumbly.
