Hi Maureen,

As the Castrol ad over here goes " oils ain't oils " ! The active

ingredients in the various antibiotics can very quite markedly. From

memory it was thought that the main factor in effectiveness was

reduction in inflammation which possibly quite a few (all?) of them do

to some degree or other. In fact I am sure there was a more recent

(small) study done on something which used the anti-inflammatory

properties of a drug like minocycline without the drawbacks of the other

antibiotic properties and showed a lot of promise. I am not sure if I

read it on PLS-FRIENDS but if not I am sure I would have posted it on

here - probably about a year ago I would guess.

Just have to take lots of good bacteria (eg acidophilus) to replace

those killed by the antibiotics as antibiotics kill both the bad

bacteria and the good ones we need.
