Guest guest
I have been on T3 only for 6 months or so already. I had a breackthrough at 3 months but things are not going particularly well. I have been trying to do things right (adjusting HC, T3, etc) but I haven't succeeded so far and now my adrenals have crashed (I think). I feel very fragile and depresed and my temps are changing a lot. I am trying to stabilize them. In any case I wanted to ask, is it possible to have high temps and feel very hypo? Yesterday's daily average temp was 37.4 (99.3) (post ovulation temp) and I have lots of hypo symptoms (and I am pretty sure they are hypo symptoms because they went away with Armour and even with T4). I don't feel ill, just hypo and also in an adrenal mess. Thanks,
Guest guest
Yes HYPER symptoms feel almost identical to hypo. SO if you give me some DETAILS liek how much T3 you are taking and your last FT3 labs (you HAVE done them so sort this out?) and BOP readings NOW and HC and how you are dosing it maybe I cna help you tweak dosages. http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ > > > I have been on T3 only for 6 months or so already. Guest guest
O.K. let's see. I am taking 62.5 T3 (cynomel) and 30 HC. 1200 Potassium and sea salt, plus a vit B complex and additional vit. B6 (to see if I can improve a luteal phase defect), also folic acid (trying to get pregnant for very looong), also Q10. I think that's all right now. I got very recent labs: TSH: 0.1 free T4: 0.25 ng/dl (0.71-1.90) free T3: 5.01 pmol/l (2.63-5.70) Potassium: 4.1 mEq/L (3.5-5.5) Sodium: 148 mEq/L (135-155) Iron panel few days ago: Ferritin: 51.0 ng/mL Iron: 140 mcg/dl (40-140) Transferrin: 199.2 mg/dL (200.0-350) Sat Transferrin: 41.3 (20-50) TIBC: 339.2 ug/dL (245.5-412.9) Iron panel a month ago: Ferritin: 62.8 ng/mL Iron: 94.0 mcg/dl (40-140) Transferrin: 202.3 mg/dL (200.0-350) Sat Transferrin: 31.7 (20-50) TIBC: 296.3 ug/dL (245.5-412.9) Ferritin has been droping from 120 (just after clearance), since I stoped iron. I guess I should start supplementing again. However I am scared because I think my transferrin is too low. Shouldn't it be high to " trap " the available iron? Recent temps: Pre-ovulation: 19-jul: basal: 36.5 /daily average: 37.03 20-jul: basal: 36.3/ daily aver: 36.93 21-jul: basal: 36.6 / daily: 36.9 22-jul: basal: 36.5 23 jul: basal: 36.6 / daily: 37.06 Post-ovul: 24-jul: basal: 36.9 25-jul: basal: 36.7 /daily: 37.36 26-jul: basal: 36.9 / daily: 37.26 27-jul: basal: 36.7 And how I feel: depressed, fregile and with hypo symptoms like very dry eyes, back pain, dry hair... I am loosing weight despite being very thin (which I think is adrenal for me), I weight 51 Kg and I am 1.63 cm tall. I have dark circles under my eyes and look tired. I apologize for being so negative in some of my posts, I am just very depresed. I am very tahnkful to Val and Margery and Nick and all who answer and care, I am just to desperate sometimes. > Yes HYPER symptoms feel almost identical to hypo. Guest guest
Just one more thing, I just spoke with the lab which did this tests because there are things I don't understand. They told me that they calculate TIBC in the following way: TIBC = Iron + transferrin. I get the impresion this is not a very informative number then. I am really confuse with the iron labs. I don't understand why transferrin is so low if I need iron. I have read transferrin can be low if you have a low protein diet (I don't) or a liver problem (which I don't think I have, but I haven't checked liver for a while). Brrrr I get the feeling that everytime I get new labs, instead of seing a clearer picture of what is going on, I get even more confused! Does anyone there understand this results???? By the way, I have been following all the indications to test iron , but I ate some red meet two days before the last blood draw and I wonder whether that could be the cause of the high serum iron... > Iron panel few days ago: > > Ferritin: 51.0 ng/mL > Iron: 140 mcg/dl (40-140) > Transferrin: 199.2 mg/dL (200.0-350) > Sat Transferrin: 41.3 (20-50) > TIBC: 339.2 ug/dL (245.5-412.9) > > Iron panel a month ago: > > Ferritin: 62.8 ng/mL > Iron: 94.0 mcg/dl (40-140) > Transferrin: 202.3 mg/dL (200.0-350) > Sat Transferrin: 31.7 (20-50) > TIBC: 296.3 ug/dL (245.5-412.9) >
Guest guest
Actually what these labs show me is a reduction in inflammation. I do nto think you need more iron wiht these labs and thi si another of the many reasons we need full panels instead of JUST ferritin. http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ > Just one more thing, I just spoke with the lab which did this tests because there are things I don't understand. Guest guest
Before starting Armour (1 year and a half ago) my labs were as follows: January 2009: ferritin: 38.25 ug/mL (10-204) iron: 120 ug/dL (40-150) Then I suplemented iron, and ferritin went up to 60. I suplemented more and reached 120 (that was my ferritin level when rT3 cleared, 3 months ago). These labs are from that time, tree months ago (just after clearance), when ferritin was highest: Ferritin: 121.7 ng/ml (12-200) ESR (1 h.) : 3 (2-15) Homocysteine: 7.27 umol/L (Less than 10) I think ESR and Homocysteine are related with the presence of inflamation in the body, but I think the results are good. Then I stopped supplementing iron and ferritin has been gradually droping from 120 to 62, to 51 now. I think it is going back to the level I had before ever supplementing (I only have full iron panels las two months). That's why I am not convinced my higher ferritin before reflects inflamation, but I have to say that I really don't know. I know nothing about iron metabolism but one thing that made me suspect I could need more iron is that I usually feel better at the end of the luteal phase and worse after the period, but I don't know. > > Actually what these labs show me is a reduction in inflammation.
