Guest guest
Well my personal opinion is I wil never let ANY doctor ever again keep or make my unhealthy. We have sources for everything except testosterone as it si a controlled substance. Labs are available to us to monitor what we cannto by symptoms. http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ Hi Val and Nick, Next week I have to talk to my functional medicine doctor about increasing my bio-identical estrogen as I have had to use more than the RX is for to alleviate night sweats and other menopausal symptoms. I have been avoiding this conversation because while he requested my RT3 test he also looked at it and said all was well “No ’s syndrome” with a ratio that Val said was 12. I have been self-treating for 13 weeks. Also my TSH was 13.5 in February because I was on Iodoral by prescription after taking an Iodine Loading test and showing a deficiency. I am now on week 13 of T3 only and increasing Cynomel incrementally (now back at 81.25) until I don’t feel hypo anymore and my temps are normal. I can’t afford a total blood panel at the moment and I am just wondering if it would be advisable to just forego the extra estrogen for awhile until everything is optimal? I feel like my hormones might balance themselves better once my thyroid hormones are optimal and my feeling is my doctor, while better than average, is still in the dark when it comes to T3, Iodine and also BHT. I guess I am afraid that he will quit treating me when or if he finds out I am self treating with T3 and then I will lose my bio-identical prescription. I know this is not strictly about RT3 but if possible I would appreciate some advice. Thanks so much, Kris P.S. Val thanks for the recommendation on places to get mercury thermometers. www.Horse.com was great to deal with and their service was impeccable. Guest guest
I am totally in agreement with you Val and unfortunately I don't trust my doctor to do what is right anymore. He is my source of Bio-identical estrogen as well as testosterone, progesterone and a estriol vaginal cream. Are there sources for most of these Bio-identicals(I understand not testosterone) or are there products other menopausal women have used with a great deal of success? If the source for hormones needs to remain anonymous would you send it to me privately? > > > > > > Hi Val and Nick, > > > > Next week I have to talk to my functional medicine doctor about > > increasing my bio-identical estrogen as I have had to use more than > > the RX is for to alleviate night sweats and other menopausal symptoms. > > I have been avoiding this conversation because while he requested my > > RT3 test he also looked at it and said all was well " No 's > > syndrome " with a ratio that Val said was 12. Guest guest
Kris -- I'd love to know these sources as well, as I'm suffering horribly with Hashimotos and menopause. Taking a pill called Estratest, but the ratio is causing acne on my 50+ skin, with no help w/hot flashes... My TSH has been 84 and 144 -- YES, no decimal point!!!-- during two blood tests this past year, and my one " normal " of 4 still with low T4... No, doc won't test Frees or RT3...but after 15+ years with this disease I know something is wrong withall the fatigue, constipation, hair loss, etc. WHERE do I get my own Cynomel, estrogen, etc. once I do the blood tests...??? Than you, Brulita brulita@... Sent from my iPhone I am totally in agreement with you Val and unfortunately I don't trust my doctor to do what is right anymore. Guest guest
Brulita I think Val will post them privately, if not already, she will if asked. Personally I am cancelling my appointment and will either make do with what I have until January or try some of the products from the sources she provided. BTW,the private sources work very well and the Cynomel is working for me. I am finally starting to feel more like myself than I have for about 15 years as well. Thanks so much Val for all your help and best of luck to you Brulita as you start this tortuous journey. It is worth it in the end. Guest guest
Brulita, I wasn't familiar with Estratest so looked it up. Are you aware that it is not BHRT? It Contains Urine Estrogen (mainly Estrone) and synthetic Testosterone derivative. The inactive ingredients are crap too (includes Parabens, Iodine) http://www.rxlist.com/estratest-drug.htm Not to mention that oral tabs are NOT a good way to take Sex Hormones at all (hard on Liver & lose a lot in digesting) God knows why you would want Estrone anyway? Estradiol is best & I use Estriol vaginally. A combined product does not allow flexibility in titrating doses either. Much better to get seperate BHRT Estradiol Liposomal Gel & BHRT Testosterone Liposomal Gel.
