Guest guest
Sorry I have not had this issue. http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ Hi Val, Nick and Margery, I have hit a milestone today (week 14) things actually seem quite normal and that is a good thing. Last night I increased my Cynomel to 93.25 (up 6.25) because while my BP and pulse are good my body temp has stayed low (98). This morning my basal temp was 98.2, my 8:30 temp was 98.6 and my noon temp was 98.6. I can now increase without having a racing heart or any jitteriness which is wonderful. I am also taking 9 pellets of Isocort upon recommendation from Val about two weeks ago when my BP was 99/69 (now 118/76 and my heart rate is 83 bpm) All of this is wonderful and for the first time in 14 weeks I feel like it really is going to get better. The problem I am having is I seem to have very low salivary flow which is making swallowing difficult, sometimes with food sometimes just sitting around not drinking or eating. I have had a dry mouth forever with a burning sensation that is worse with some supplements but this swallowing thing started on the Fourth of July, went away for a few weeks and now has reared its ugly head again. Now I sort of panic when it feels like I am not going to swallow, so I carry water with me everywhere and then I don’t panic and I do swallow without difficulty. There also seems to be something akin to post nasal drip always in the back of my throat, close to the uvula, and I do feel the need to clear my throat at times. I think I asked this question before but now I wonder if it could this be at all related to what I presume is a suppressed thyroid? I have not tested my thyroid levels but given my body temperature and good BP and pulse I assume my levels are better than they have been for a long time. I know if I go to the doctor they will run tests some that won’t be necessary because that is what they do but I don’t want to ignore a potentially serious issue. Has anyone experienced this issue? If so, what was wrong? How did you treat it? Once I go to bed at night I never have a problem because it feels like once I relax it all goes away. Can you tell I am perplexed? Thanks for listening, Kris
Guest guest
Dry mouth has several possible causes. I had it years ago as a side effect from a medication I was on (mine was not thyroid-related). It went away after I discontinued the medication. Here are some links to info about it: http://www.wrongdiagnosis.com/sym/dry_mouth.htm http://www.webmd.com/oral-health/guide/dental-health-dry-mouth Hope this helps. > > Hi Val, Nick and Margery, > > I have hit a milestone today (week 14) things actually seem quite normal and > that is a good thing. Guest guest
Thanks to both Val and Margery for answering my query about dry mouth and trouble swallowing. After yesterdays good news today things are back to normal with lower than normal body temps. The day after I increase my dose by even 6.25 mcg I see an increase in body temp but then it returns to its normal lower than average temp. Perhaps I haven't cleared all the receptors yet as I thought but IF I have gone through clearance how long does it take to be optimally dosed? The reason I ask is because I am suspicious that while I have had a clearance event I am still not on my optimal dose of T3 and therefore probably still quite hypothyroid and/or I am experiencing pooling but with much less drama than before. Hypothyroid conditions can slow saliva and dry the mouth as I see it in a lot of hypothyroid patients in my dental chair, so it stands to reason that that may be the cause of dry food not going down easily. This clearance process does lead one to hypothesize a lot but the more I understand about all the quirks of this process the less I am afraid. I should tell you that I wrote about this group in my blog today because I am just amazed at how much better I am even if I have further to go. I feel like we really must spread the word. Thanks Val, Margery and Nick. You can read and critique my information at http://krisinsight.wordpress.com Kris > > Dry mouth has several possible causes. Guest guest
I have problems with swallowing any kind of pill. I have been to so may doctors, ents, gastros, had a cookie swallow, mri, ultrasounds - they see nothing except that I have a small nodule on the back of my thyroid. To me that could be the problem as it would interfere with the esophagus, but no one is willing to say that is the problem. They get stuck on the right side, in fact, I have a B vitamin stuck there now from yesterday!! It is the most annoying thing and I can find no relief. Guest guest
Oh gosh I think you have me trumped but somehow it helps to know someone has had issues with swallowing and they are around to talk about it. Thanks for sharing your experience with this issue and I hope you find resolution of the nodule once your thyroid is properly taken care of. I did read yesterday that some people with Sjogren's need water to swallow food. I do not have diagnosed Sjogren's but the possibility now crosses my mind as it, too is an autoimmune disease. I may pursue it further I may not but I, too, hope this swallowing issue goes away soon. There was a discussion ongoing about EBV does anyone know where the discussion went?
