Guest guest
How long have you been on T3 onyl? http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ > I am taking both hydrocortizone and Cytomel and also chelated iron. I have been following the program that was laid out with stabilizing the adrenals first and getting the ferritin levels up and then starting on the T3. I am now up to taking T3 twice a day, 75 mcg each time. So that means I am up to 150 mcg a day and have still not yet hit Hyper. Temps are quite low still as well. Not racing heart or other symptoms of Hyper at this point. > Two questions: > 1. Do you think that 150 mcg a day is dangerous high? > 2. Do you think that taking it twice a day in larger quantities is somehow not absorbing properly in my body? I take on a mostly empty stomach when I take to try to maximize absorption. > > Thanks > DEANNA > > > > ------------------------------------ > > We are not medical professionals here, just patients sharing our experiences. Temps are quite low still as well. Not racing heart or other symptoms of Hyper at this point. >> Two questions: >> 1. Do you think that 150 mcg a day is dangerous high? Not necessarily, depends how long you have been on it and the stare of your adrenals. you may have overshot the sweet spot and depressed adrenals or you may need that much, some of us do. >> 2. Do you think that taking it twice a day in larger quantities is somehow not absorbing properly in my body? I take on a mostly empty stomach when I take to try to maximize absorption. >> For me (and we all vary) taking more than 25 at a time crashes my adrenals. If I take 25 at 7am and 25 at 10 temperature slopes up through the day and I do well. Taking 50 at 7am temperature drops a degree and I crash and have to sleep. Too much T3 at a time uses up more cortisol than my body can provide at a time. Spreading it works between for me. If you try taking that 150 in 6 doses of 25 at a time you may find a different result. This is me, you may not see a difference. Guest guest
Have been on T3 only for about 3 months. Should be getting plenty of support from Hydrocort though for Adrendals. Guest guest
1. I am on 30 mcg of Hydrocort every day though, so how could I depress my adrenals with that kind of support? 2. Curious why the dosing through the day may be more effective? What happens to the T3 if the body is not using it up? Thanks DEANNA > > >T3 twice a day, 75 mcg each time. Guest guest
I would get FT3 run as you may have overshot and be hyper as thta will simply pool in the blood and you stil feel hypo. Labs wil sort it out. http://www.nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://www.health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.faqhelp.webs.com/ http://www.health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ > 1. Guest guest
> >Have been on T3 only for about 3 months. You might be around the clearance time then, that's not an unreasonable dose if you had bad resistance, look out for a surge in temperature and pulse. >Should be getting plenty of support from Hydrocort though for Adrendals. That was the missing information. I talk with too many people to remember who is on what. Nick
Guest guest
>1. I am on 30 mcg of Hydrocort every day though, so how could I depress my adrenals with that kind of support? It can " use up " all the HC of that dose, I presume you are spreading the HC through the day?? >2. Curious why the dosing through the day may be more effective? What happens to the T3 if the body is not using it up? The T3 stays there until it has more HC to get it into the cells (pooling). This is why someone who has been on thyroid support who then discovers they have adrenal issues needs to lower their thyroid dose before starting the HC as otherwise there is a risk of a " thyroid dump " . My gut feeling is that if you took the T3 in 4 doses at the same time as you take HC it might work better. It's certainly worth a try.
