Guest guest
Thanks Kathleen I think that was the final argument to convince me to go standard T3. Iv'e just got to convince the Doc to rewrite the script to standard T3. Thanks for the detailed description it explains it well and is much appreciated. Guest guest
Hi Wayne, You're welcome. I have wanted SR to work out, but it never has, so oh well. I really don't any problems dosing the regular stuff several times a day and I bet you won't, either. And, well, no, you don't have to convince your doc of anything. You can buy regular t3 yourself (and probably cheaper than going to the local drugstore) through our private sources. Three bottles of 100 pills each for only $49. :-) And your doc can think you're on SR if he wants to. ;-) This stuff is potent and I've heard complaints about generic cytomel, so I would actually prefer to have the Grossman brand from online that get it at the drugstore, anyway. Guest guest
I can easily quarter the Grossman cynomel (from Mexico) with a pill splitter that you can buy in any drugstore. Guest guest
> >I am confused about this SRT3. I take the mexican brand of cytomel. Is this slow release? What is standard T3? T3 in " standard " form is immediate release, there are many brands and names http://thyroid-rt3.com/which.htm " Sustained release " is made by compounding pharmacies who take normal T3 and mix it with a filler that stops it all getting into the system at once. This then makes it cost a LOT more than the original T3. http://thyroid-rt3.com/want.htm is our summary of SRT3 which tends to have poor absorption and hence appear weaker. I take normal cheap T3 at intervals through the day to keep my levels topped up, I have a very simple system for dealing with " did I take that dose at 10 or did I think about it and not do it " . I simply count out my days worth of tablets into an empty bottle and carry that round with me for the day taking only from that, by counting how many are left I know if I have taken the appropriate dose. I keep backup bottles in my car, in my computer bag, and at work in case I go out without " the bottle " Nick -- for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to www.thyroid-rt3.com For lots of good information of adrenal issues http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com/ and the adrenal group on http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
I started by taking Withania, Ginseng, and a tiny bit of Licorice, but have since dropped the Ginseng and Licorice, also for the Adrenals I'm taking Vit C 1000 to 2000mg a day, B5,B6 plus a few other vitamins,D3,E, mostly what the doc advised in relation to my particular case, I think they have helped with general energy levels but not the response I was hoping for but as they say this illness can take some time to regulate. My morning Cortisol level at last test had gone up quite a bit...more than I could believe in fact as I don't really notice much difference.I see by some latest post's you are leaning toward the Standard T3, may I ask why would you buy from Mexico when you can get Tertroxin in Australia ?? it's just about the same as the Mexican and don't think it would work out that much cheaper by the time you add postage to get it here.....please correct me if I'm wrong.Best of luck with whichever you choose. Guest guest
Hi Sandy Yes I seem to be accepting that the standard T3 has possible benefits over SRT3. For me it is all a steep learning curve but I am learning with the help of all here. Thanks for the info on the supplements. I am going to try a Rhodiola and B vitamins tablet and see if that works for me along with my other normal vitamins I take. I haven't even started on T3 yet still working on raising ferritin and supporting adrenals so that when I do start I hopefully will be well prepared. Therefore I had not even discovered what T3 brands are available here in Australia and at what cost so was gathering information to enable me to make an informed decision. I take your point that it is probably better to buy here all things considered.
