Your T3 could still go hihger as it s not supressing your T4 well. I

would get a sublingual B12 supplement. I use 1mg methycobalamin from

Puritain Pride, which is very high dose but it had brought me form dirt

to over 1000 in about 6 months.

no clearance as yet, as far as I can tell, but definite improvement. Pulse often

this in another topic. I'm not overly concerned as I am feeling a lot better in

many ways.

I will let you know if the adrenals group thinks otherwise.

Low B12 also runs in the family (my Granddad had to get injections for it and

Mum has had it). I have been taking a B-Complex called 'Methyl Max' and have

doubled it since getting that B12 result back.

Hi Val,

Thanks again for your input. I imagine my T3 results would be much better now -

that test was taken quite early on (I think I was up to 90mcg) and right after I

had to go without T3 for 3 days as my doctor did not write me a script as

promised! :S I was so annoyed. I had to start from 50mcg again. I've been on

95mcg for 9 weeks since that result was taken. I will get it test again next

week.

I'm not sure about increasing my T3 any more because it also looks like I have

non-optimal cortisol now - you commented on my adrenal test results in the NTH

ADRENALS group, that the saliva test results did not look reliable as the ranges

were bad and I had high saliva cortisol in the morning when the blood test

showed it was low in the range when taken on the same day. Still having a panic

about that! :S hehe.

Thanks for the B12 suggestion - I will keep it in mind. I like the idea of

sublingual B12.

Hi Val, I posted my temps in the NTH ADRENALS group - they average 36.8 over 6

days - practically no fluctuation between the days - and we decided my adrenals

were functioning well but a little low. My basal temps are also low most days

(from 36.0 to 36.6). Here are my latest thyroid function test results (I just

gone my June reverse T3 result back today):

7th JUNE 2010 (Week 4 on T3 only Treatment):

TSH - <0.05 mU/L (0.40-4.00)

Free T4 - 6 pmol/L (10-20)

Free T3 - 7.2 pmol/L (2.8-6-8)

Reverse T3 - 122 pmol/L (170-450)

I am now in Week 14 of my T3 only treatment. I noticed a significant

improvement in my symptoms about 3 weeks ago - many of the hypothyroid symptoms

have improved (too many to go into now - feel a lot better, especially brain fog

and general anxiety and swelling in ankles and legs and ability to stand for

long periods of time and low mood and ability to focus and concentrate and read

and write for extended periods of time) - but no high temps as yet (except 1 day

when it was 37.1).

Pulse is often high, above 90 (I have low/normal sodium and take 1/4 tsp sea

salt twice daily. I am also fighting low b12 - it's around 500 at the moment.

Symptoms that bother me the most are fatigue (one big day still results in at

least 1 full rest day - still getting pm fatigue and still have trouble cooking

dinner), anxiety/worry about the future (although lessened), bad pmt (worsening

of anxiety, irritability and low mood), occasional heart palps and high pulse.

I am being tested for low aldosterone (I have salt cravings, occasional light

headedness when standing, palps, high pulse, urinate at least 2 times a night

etc).

Another round of thyroid function tests has been ordered today.

Should I try and increase my T3, or should I keep waiting for proper clearance?

Anything else?

Thanks for your help.

I would hold til you get aldosterone testing. I believe it may well be

the low sodium inside the cells causing the higher pulse but we shoudl

be sure before pushign more T3 which cna raise it further. B12 shoudl

also be optimal, are you taking enough to raise it? I found 1MG

sublingual B12 at Puritain Pride Vitamins and it has really raised mine

which kind of hung at 6-700 for a long time and now is over 1000 like it

shiuld be.
