Guest guest
I am on my 5th week also. I have had to increase every 3 days for the past few weeks as i felt very hypo like you in my 3rd week. at my 5 week point now i am up to 87.50 mcg cytomel in 5 doses per day sublingually. I started at 35.25 mcg per day which was way low considering I was on 260mg NDT before. My Reverse T3 ratio was 10. i take 169mg iron per day, 4000mcg B12, an adrenal glandular (like isocort), along with a lot of other supplements. Are you taking your temps and pulse every day? what was your RT3 ratio? wishing you the best, Sharon Remember! Dolls are people, too....have you hugged your dolls today? It is my 5th week, I am on 62.5mcg, I am not going to take my 1PM dose, and going to go off it little by little because I have never felt this bad......... ..I'm going to get hysterical, I don't know what to do really...... ... Guest guest
I'm on 5th week also, 62.5mcg, my RT3 ratio was 10, my temps now are all over the place it seems....today for instance, they are 36.3, 36.5, 36.5 but yesterday they were 36.2, 36.7, 36.6, 36.5 and the day before 36.6, 37.2, 36.4 so I am very confused what to do.......before I started T3 I was on 2 grains nature thyroid, that's all, plus isocort........should I increase more often then or just get off it? The last time I increased was on 8/8..........but i haven't felt well since the increase........i am SO tired...........I wake up tired........ Guest guest
Sorry...I am not up to speed on how those temp numbers translate. they don't seem so far apart to me. Did you have your adrenals checked? T3 is supposed to be hard on the adrenals if they are not healthy and supported. all I know is that you can't get rid of an RT3 issue when you take T4. So going T3 only is the only way to clear out the RT3. But you have to get the right support for your whole system in terms of your adrenals, iron, B12, D3, sex hormones, etc. if it were me i would try to cut back on exhertion and stress, up the T3 slowly, by 6.25 every 3 days as your temps/pulse allow and keep on doing all the right things. I gained weight the first 2 weeks on T3 only and have not lost any. I figure it is the only way to get rid of the RT3 so I am going to hang in there. I had to up my iron and B12 slowly and a lot. My doc already had me taking 10,000 D3 a day and on an adrenal gladular (like isocort). This incredible fatigue you have can also be low iron. As for sleeping at night have you tried things like 3 mg melatonin at bedtime or L-tryptophan? also if your estrogen is low you will have trouble sleeping, be restless/edgy and have poor concentration. wishing you well, Sharon Remember! Guest guest
Just a thought, but you seem to be taking too little T3. I would be tired, also, if I was taking that little. I am at week 8 and am on 100 mcg., which I have been taking for about 3 weeks. I believe I will raise that a bit because I think it's too little. You have to take enough of the T3 because you are replacing everything with it. Another thing I found very useful was after reading a message from someone a few weeks ago I started taking my pills 3 times a day, including my last 12 mcg's at 10PM. I felt better doing it that way rather than trying to remember to take it 4-6 times a day in smaller increments. It doesn't even interfere with my sleep, which I was certain it would. Made a difference for me. But really, you are taking too little. Give it a boost. The tiredness you are feeling is telling you that you should. Guest guest
You see I have not too stable tempos or rather low temps, so this is where I'm confused whether I should up my meds or not..........when I started pre-T3 my iron was 104 and i do take 4 bluebonnet tabs/day.......with my adrenals i had saliva test, albeit while I was on isocort, and 2 docs told me i should get off adrenal support, that i didn't need it........they knew i was taking isocort. Anyway I didn't listen to them and stayed on it because my adrenals looked ok because I was on adrenal support...........so I still confused........ Guest guest
Kathleen, I'm curious to know how you dose your t3? I've been taking 96mcg in 4 doses and I would like to do it in 3 doses(2 doses would be better) if that's possible. Isocort may not be enough for you. You need more T3 but won't be able to take it as your adrenals will crash further. You MAY have pooled T3 due to lack of cortisol not letting it into the cells so starting HC or upping the isocort could cause a thyroid dump. you either need to drop T3 a little down to say 50 for a day to let the pooled levels reduce a little and then increase the isocort (or use HC cream) until temperatures stabilize or ramp down on T3, quit isocort, wait 2 weeks and take a saliva test to find out where you are. Until you can stabilize the day to day average temperatures you are not going to be able to tolerate/utilize enough T3.
