I've been on T3 only for almost 6 weeks now. I'm up to about 56 mcg per day.

Upping dosage has been pretty slow going for some reason. Temps seem to be fine.

I just had labs done and the protocol seems to be working! Here are my previous

labs from May:

MAY LABS

> TSH 2.42 (.34 - 4.82 uIU/ml)

> FT4 .38 (.77 - 1.61 ng/dL)**

> FT3 230 (230 - 420 pg/dL)**

> RT3 20 (11-32 ng/dL)

Here are my labs from Aug 4:

TSH 1.35 (.34 - 4.82 uIU/ml)

FT4 .2 (.8 - 2.7 ng/dL)

FT3 233 (230 - 420 pg/dL)

RT3 5 (11 - 32 ng/dL)

I also had ferritin, magnesium and B12 checked finally:

Magnesium (serum) 1.8 (1.8 - 2.4 mg/dL)

B-12 344 (200 - 1100 pg/mL

Ferritin 156 (3 - 244 ng/ml)

I was surprised my ferritin level was decent. Is that high? B-12 and magnesium,

not so much. I am dosing Isocort 4-2-2-1. Still feeling a little hypo/spacey and

sometimes get the yawns later in the afternoon. Also get a little

headachey/cross-eyed on occasion but I am thinking that could be hypo symptoms

as well. I am having bloodwork done for glucose and cholesterol next week.

Just wanted to share the good news! I'm excited it's working and I'm looking

forward to feeling even better in another 6 weeks or so! :) THANKS TO EVERYONE

who has shared knowledge/offered advise!! I finally feel optimistic about my

journey to wellness.

Holy fudge, your B12 is very low. It should be at least 550, and is best above 1,000. Likely you should be doing methylB12 shots, at least at first. I've been doing a lot of explaining here and in the NTH forum about B12 deficiency, supplementing and such. But really what I should be doing in most cases is referring people to this forum:

http://forums.wrongdiagnosis.com/showthread.php?t=9948 & page=1447

It's actually a single conversation thread which is so rich in information and serves so many people, that it has survived for many years. I suggest you join wrongdiagnosis, post on this thread for a few days until your posts start showing up almost immediately, and then start posting your labs, history and ask how to best get your B12 up.

If you've been B12 deficient for long enough, and badly enough, it could **possibly** account for the yawning. B12 deficiency can cause air hunger -- though I think not as commonly as does hypo and Lyme disease.

RT3 is going down nicely but you are still very hypo, if you can

tolerate an increase you will benefit from it.

Are your daily average temperatures stable??

Yes, Nick (sorry for the delayed response) My temps are pretty stable so I upped

my morning dose 5 mg. Thanks for suggesting that.

I just got more labs done(AGAIN). I've been thirsty and going to the bathroom a

lot so my doc wanted to check glucose which was 88. They did the HGBA1C and it

was 5.6 (4.8 - 6.0%)Looks to me like sodium and potassium are a bit low (Na=138

136-145 MMOL/L and K=3.9 3.5-5.1 MMOL/L) and AST/SGOT was 14 (15-37 U/L) I

really don't know what that means. Creatinine, total protein, albumin and

globulin were all just a point or two from being " low. " Total cholesterol and

LDL were normal. HDL was low, triglycerides were high. Do you think I should

have aldosterone checked, or is there something else that could be going on? I

am not drinking too much water. I'm adding celtic sea salt to almost everything

I eat and every time I drink water - about 1/4 tsp. to about two 20 oz glasses a

day.

I've been supplementing with a stress tab that has B-6 in it for over two years

and I just started supp'ing B-12 after discovering a deficiency. Sex hormones

were also low the last time I checked. I am beginning to think something is

wonky with my pituitary. BP is in normal range.

Any thoughts?? I see my doc on Thursday to go over lab results. I would like to

be armed with some suggestions. Mucho THANKS!
