Guest guest
What a week it has been. First my father in law was put into a nursing home. Watching this man go from such a active lifestyle. He loved playing golf, boating, water skiing, snowmobiling, flying his small plane, all this started slipping away after he found out he had parkinson's disease. Now he cannot speak,or walk. He had to go into a nursing facility. I don't know if he will get better. I have a former co- worker her name is Doris, we were casual friends at work soon after I had to leave my job due to this pls disease. She called me to say she too had to take a medical leave from job. She had cancer. Over the months, we would chat, one call a week turned into several times a week. I enjoyed talking to her, I have the extra time, and felt better doing it because her grown children lived out of state. We lifted each other spirits. The worst was over the kemo. done. Doris was hoping to go back to work shortly ..while changing my new grandaughter's diaper, thinking to myself.. must call Doris I will wait till tomorrow, when I don;t have the baby, but before I could call her the next day, I got a call, The squad had taken her, she had passed away. For the last few days I have been in shock..she sounded so good the other day, how could this be.. Tonight May 16 is her viewing, I want to go but I have such a problem with UNCONTROLLED CRYING. Not sure yet about that but only a few hours away. I might wait and go to her house and take food to the family tomorrow. How do you handle situations like this when it comes to pls? I have never met her family. How do you explain about the uncontrolled crying, or avoid the subject and not mention it? Should I go? Or try to get their address and write them a letter. The most littlest things, will trigger the flood of tears.. help me my pls friends...Huggs, from OHIO.
