You need ot stop the iron. It is too high now. You are cvery estrogen

dominant which usually means low cortiosl . I suspect the cortisl is

why yo are nto tolerating T3. I owuld start some progesterone cream

ASAP to help balance out that high estrogen and wait fgor your cortiosl

labs. Id you do the saliva panel? If so that wil be most helpful.

Thank you Val for helping me with all this.

I have been reading on Dr Lam's site most of yesterday and this morning. I

noticed that Ginseng(panax)has been proven to have a mild estrogen-promoting

activity in some women. I am taking a low dose in the adrenal support that my

doctor recomended (3 x 100mg per day). However, that is probably only adding to

the existing problem, and I am not taking anymore just in case.

Iron will now be stopped - until next testing and I will get my doctor to

prescribe the progesterone cream.

The last saliva panel was done on 11/7/09 with Genova labs:

7 - 9am 1.05 (range 0.27-1.18)

11 - 1pm 0.16 (range 0.10-0.41)

3 - 5pm 0.18 (range 0.05-0.27)

10 -12am 0.24 (range 0.03-0.14)

DHEA 7am-9am - 595 (range 71-640pg/mL)

DHEA: Cortisol Ratio/10,000 - 567 (range 115-1,188)

On 4/2/10 my Cortisol - AM was 15.8 ug/dL (range 6.2 - 19.4), but my T3 was

looking better then and I was feeling better also. I had lowered my T3 down to

almost nothing because I noticed as I lowered the dosage that my temp. increased

to 98.6 and I felt great (too good) for a while. Then the hypo. got worse so I

took more T3, but had trouble raising past 18.75.

Should I do another saliva panel?

Thanks again,

Marcy

where is a good place to get progesterone cream? My doc told me to just get some over the counter, but i've not really seen any.To: RT3_T3 Sent: Sun, August 15, 2010 6:00:12 PMSubject: Re: Bump: Please Nick/Val in need of advice - new

Here are links to two OTC progesterone products. But I've never used them -

perhaps someone else on the group can give their opinion on these? Or suggest

Vita-Cost has a great product that is about half or less of what I paid in a

local compounding pharmacy. Source Naturals Progesterone Cream Tube -- 4 fl oz

for $7.64. Emerita is what my doc recommended, but it's 3 x as much and I can't

tell a difference since switching to this 8 or so months ago.

Hope this helps,

Emerita works. I've used it but had to use a lot, so it might not be as potent

as they say. The BEST I've used is Xymogen. You can google it and buy it online.

I like the ProgX best as one pump is 5 mg.

I can answer on the progesterone cream - will have to leave the rest for Val -

compounded progesterone cream may be a LOT stronger than the OTC. This depends

entirely on the prescription the doctor writes - it is compounded to whatever

strength the doctor writes the prescription for.

My own compounded prog cream was ten times stronger than the OTC cream.

You're right, Margery. But that's the only difference. So instead of having to

use 1/2 tsp, you might only have to use 1/8 tsp. So it can actually be quite

cost effective. I know I had my doc double the strength of my testo gel so I

could use 1/2 as much so the jar now lasts twice as long! :-) So you might ask

your doc to do the same thing to save you money. Most of the cost is for the

compounding itself, not the strength. So you'll pay almost the same for a jar

that's twice as strong but lasts twice as long, so it's much cheaper that way.
