Guest guest
Something is happening to the thyroid you ar taking as it si certinly not showing up in these labs or were these done before you went back oin the meds? Your Ferritin is too low. This cn take a coupel months ot bring up and you will need abotu 150-200mg a day of elemental iron ot bring it up. I cannto confrim an dRT3 problems form these labs, You really need ot redo them in this dose so we can see what your body is doing wiht the thyroid hormones. But you woudl be MUCH better off ot jbe taking just Armoru and no added Synthroid. but you may need 4-5 grains as the new Armoru ios weaker than the old. http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ > I was referred to this group after posting about re-starting my thyroid meds (went off for 2-3 mos.) and I'm not feeling any better---I'm currently using 2 gr. naturthroid, .75 synthroid.....this was what I was taking for long time before I recently quit----I don't know why I quit---I got upset with not being able to get thyroid meds when they were scarce, then I guess it just pissed me off and I was doing well and convinced myself I didn't need them.....okay, got that out of the way---I will never make that mistake again..... > sooooo, I went and did labs, posted them to thyroid group and it confirmed I'm hypo, have hashis, got my holistic MD to give me the same prescription I was on previous to quitting when I was feeling GREAT---only it's been about 3 weeks now and I'm not feeling better.......I remember when I first went on old armour after being on only synthroid (and feeling poorly for years)---well, on the armour I felt better in 3 days.....Am I being unrealistic?? OR could I possibly have RT3 syndrome, something else, iron.....? if so, where did it come from--maybe because I stopped the thyroid meds altogether?...... > I had 7/8 of my throid taken out about 40 yrs. ago, no one put me on pills and I was told I would never need anything EVER.....so, 30 yrs. later I could have just rolled up in a ball on the bed and died I was sooooo listless----went to an endo. and he gave me synthroid and cytomel.....felt a bit better but never felt GREAT, normal, and when I asked him is that all there is to feeling better, he said yes---didn't want to increase anything.....for 6-8 yrs. or so I felt blah, tired, gained weight, etc. all the classic symptoms, couldn't get anyone to pay attention to me and eventually I crashed very badly adding non-existent adrenals and female hormone problems to the mix.....then I moved to where this holistic nutritionist and holistic MD are and I ended up on Armour---I felt GREAT in just 3 days......eventually we added a bit of synthroid to the armour mix and I felt even better---apparently it was agreeing with my system then......then the armour got hard to get, I got pissed > off at having to find it, so I foolishly stopped on my own..... > so, here I am, not feeling better---am I impatient after 3 weeks or is there another issue (RT3)...??? I have also been supplementing with cortisone cream and isocort for my adrenals lately as I've felt poorly, and without them I'm nothing.....major complaints---brain fog, tired.....I got my labs, and I don't have extra cash to get any more labs right now---would be willing to get more labs in 6 weeks or so to see how it's all working out.....I'm also taking 3 Floradix tablets daily, just increased to 4), take a lot of other supplements, including b-12 shots..... > can someone please help and put me on the right path......??? > > T4 - .28 (.82-1.77) > T3 - l.0 (2.0-4.4) > TSH - 12.56 (.450-4.500) > Iron, Serum 41 (35-155) > > > > ------------------------------------ > > We are not medical professionals here, just patients sharing our experiences. Guest guest
thanks for your help Val, after sending this email I had the gut feeling to stop the synthroid so I have---I'm not doing Armour this time, but I'm taking Naturthroid--supposed to be taking 2 grains....... ACTUALLY I'VE MADE A BIG MISTAKE IN TAKING MY NATURTHROID DOSE----I've actually been taking 4 grains instead----I used to get the 1 grain pills and take 2----THIS TIME DOC GAVE ME 2 GRAIN TABLETS INSTEAD, and I've been taking 2 of them!!!!! realized this yesterday.......How has this impacted all this----should I just go down to 1 tablet, or continue on the 2 tablets so I'm at least on an even amount....??? YES--tests were done day or two before restarting on thyroid...... also---I'm taking cortisone, naturthroid, Isodoral, iron---- what exact tests do I need (taking into account for RT3 problems), and what about stopping anything before tests....???
