Guest guest
I would think that if they get worse with activity it would be adrenal related, dehydration, or possibly an electrolyte imbalance (if the activity is causing sweating).Last year my adrenals were in really bad shape. I had a lot of invasive medical procedures done including three biopsies and surgery to remove a lump in my breast, so my adrenals were really struggling. I had horrible 24/7 headaches for over three months. I still get headaches every once in a while now, but since going on HC and T3 the headaches are not nearly as bad or as frequent. I'm still not optimized on thyroid meds yet and I'm having some issues with sex hormones right now, so I think most of my headaches now are related to those two issues. --Steph Hi Kathleen: I noticed in this thread it said the headaches get worse with activity. It seems to me this would narrow down to some extent what the headache is actually caused by. Guest guest
I just thought of another very common cause of headaches...Magnesium deficiency. Not sure that it relates to getting headaches with increased activity, but might be worth checking out. A lot of us have this problem and I've had a really hard time increasing my magnesium levels despite supplementing with both capsules and spray. --Steph Hi Kathleen: I noticed in this thread it said the headaches get worse with activity. Guest guest
I'm not sure why I keep getting headaches either. I don't think it's from dehydration. I drink water through out the day. I did up my cytomel to 5 mg in the morning and half of 5mg 2 more times a day, but I was getting headaches before then. I woke this morning took my med's and bam another headache. Where do you get HC? My doc has me taking adrenals supplements. It seems to be working. I take my cytomel and it together 2 times a day.thanks Cindy To: RT3_T3 Sent: Tue, August 24, 2010 12:07:07 PMSubject: Re: Re: Daily Headache - Potential Causes I just thought of another very common cause of headaches...Magnesium deficiency. Guest guest
Well I didn't know you could still be dehydrated even after drinking water though out the day.I don't take any supplements for sodium or potassium. I've not have those checked lately either.I'll have to try the sea salt in the waterand as far as i know hr and bp is good sitting and standing.I do tend to have low b/p and stay cold. Thanks for your helpCindyFrom: pricklefoot3 To: RT3_T3 Sent: Tue, August 24, 2010 2:51:53 PMSubject: Re: Daily Headache - Potential Causes Drinking water throughout the day may in fact make you MORE dehydrated. Hydration requires optimal & balanced electrolytes. If electrolytes are low water will simply lower them further & increase dehydration. What are your Sodium & Potassium levels like? Do you supp either? Have you tried putting Sea Salt in the water you drink? Is sitting & standing HR & BP OK? Low Magnesium is responsible for lots of headaches as well. Best thing I know to replentish & maintain Magnesium is Ancient Minerals transdermal Mag Oil. Have you tested RBC Nag & are the levels optimal (high in range)? Increased metabolism increases demand for nutrients. Also increased activity will also deplete nutrients including electrolytes. So will warm/hot weather. Guest guest
I've not had RBC mag. Doc did RBC in jan but its been over 6 months so I would figure it wouldn't really matter since things should have changed.I am not aware of my b/p or heart rate dropping as I stand.I guess i'm in need to have doc do some more blood work. This is frustrating. I am very hypo today, headache, cold and not really feeling like doing anything. By good BP I mean does your BP rise or fall from sitting to standing? It SHOULD rise ~ 20 points. HR should rise but not markedly so. Low BP is not good by the way & can be caused by low Sodium. High HR is often low Sodium as well High BP can be suboptimal Potassium & Magnesium VERY important to know electrolyte status when trying to raise metabolism. Guest guest
I would venture to guess that the adrenal glandulars you are taking are from the whole adrenal gland, which is not advised here since it will have adrenaline in addition to cortisol. Since your results don't sound like they are that bad you may ask your doctor if you can try Isocort instead. Isocort is made from just the adrenal cortex so you are only getting the hormones you need. I was on adrenal glandulars for 9 months and was no better off at the end of the 9 months and they didn't help my symptoms at all while I was on them. --Steph StephI have taken a saliva test a few months ago. Guest guest
StephMy doc really doesn't care where I get the adrenal support. So where do I get Isocort? I'm not sure this one is working and he said I should be feeling better soon. I just found this one at the vitamin shop. Thanks CindyTo: RT3_T3 Sent: Fri, August 27, 2010 4:36:17 PMSubject: Re: Re: Daily Headache - Potential Causes I would venture to guess that the adrenal glandulars you are taking are from the whole adrenal gland, which is not advised here since it will have adrenaline in addition to cortisol. My cortisol is low in the morning and just a little off in the afternoon. My doc has me on over the counter adrenals glands its raws. (solaray adrenal caps) My doc has also taken me off all cytomel for the time being till we can find out why I'm having such a hard time. Guest guest
This is where I get mine:http://www.pureprescriptions.com/products/product_details.asp?ProductsID=618Make sure you ask the moderators on the adrenal group how to dose it based on your labs. You want to make sure you take the right amount and that you dose it so that you follow the rhythm of how your body would naturally produce the hormones. --Steph StephMy doc really doesn't care where I get the adrenal support. Guest guest
KathleenWhat is WHAM? I have not idea if I could tolerate the Isocort or not. I have problems tolerating almost all drugs. I don't know what to do now...HELP Thanks CindyTo: RT3_T3 Sent: Fri, August 27, 2010 5:21:56 PMSubject: Re: Daily Headache - Potential Causes I get god awful headaches if I am on too lose a dose of t3. So I can't stay on too low a dose too long. Problem is, my adrenals can't keep up with me taking t3. My original coritsol results didn't look too bad, either, but they just can't keep up with taking thyroid meds. So I probably have what is called low adrenal reserve, meaning they can do okay or barely okay without stress, but add in some stress, like t3, and WHAM, I need HC. I couldn't tolerate thyroid meds at all on Isocort. Guest guest
Kathleen,That's interesting. I had gotten a bottle of Isocort to help support my adrenals (I am going into week 4), took the recommended started supporting dose, and during the night for two nights in a row got a severe headache. I have had headaches in my life, but these were BAD. No more Isocort for me. Very strange to me, because I have never really reacted to any kind of substance before. This is a first. I thought it was a quirk the first night, but then after it happened the second night, I stayed off of it. No more severe headaches.NanciTo: RT3_T3 Sent: Fri, August 27, 2010 4:21:56 PMSubject: Re: Daily Headache - Potential Causes I get god awful headaches if I am on too lose a dose of t3. Guest guest
Hmmmm. That is interesting. The Isocort works really well for me. I take HC too, but add in the Isocort because I feel better on it than just on the HC. My headaches are gone now that I'm on HC, Isocort, and T3. Just goes to show how different everyone is. No more severe headaches. Guest guest
Yes it does Sheph. I couldn't find any Isocort close to me with out ordering it. I haven't tried HC since my doc seem to think the adrenal glands should work for me. Maybe I should try another brand. Does anyone else use them? Thanks CindyTo: RT3_T3 Sent: Fri, August 27, 2010 6:08:13 PMSubject: Re: Re: Daily Headache - Potential Causes Hmmmm. That is interesting. Guest guest
StephWhat kind of adrenal glandulars were you on? I am taking Wislon's adrenal rebuilder, wondering if I should be taking Isocort instead. I don't think there is any cortisol in it. I think i do okay on it, but it do have issues when under any kind of stress; emotional, physical. My cortisol is low in the morning and just a little off in the afternoon. My doc has me on over the counter adrenals glands its raws. (solaray adrenal caps) My doc has also taken me off all cytomel for the time being till we can find out why I'm having such a hard time. My joints hurt, no energy, headaches, rash around eyes, trouble sleeping i'm sure theres more but I can't remember right now.. Guest guest
I was on Drenamin by Standard Process. Drenamin uses the entire adrenal gland instead of just the adrenal cortex like Isocort does. Looks like the Adrenal Rebuilder may just use the cortex as well. I'm not very familiar with it, but know that Isocort is what the moderators on the adrenals forum recommend, which is why I chose to go with it. --Steph StephWhat kind of adrenal glandulars were you on?
