Guest guest
Time to check in. Tawny it was, I think wrote how we impose our own barriers sometimes I wanted to say before I forgot. I chuckled at your response to the child at pool..I needed something to take my mind off my own problem at the time. I have not gone to see my brother for quite sometime. I let my own personal barriers stop me. My brother has had mental problems- all of his life. I had called his caseworker several times, to get advise how to tell my brother or should I shake it off by telling him I just injured my leg that is why I have such odd walk . I did not want to upset him, with my own illness. It is very obvious that with our pls there is something wrong with our walk ,and wall grabbing.. He would ask what was wrong.I could not understand after several calls, the caseworker never would call me back. Not till last Friday it was obious why. While surfing on internet for another long lost brother who has been missing for over 30 years. I clicked on ss death records. No record for missing brother, but shocked there was my other brothers name. Dennis my brother with mental illness. It was clear as why the caseworker did not return my calls. How could this happened,no call to the next of kin. I got on phone and wanted some answers. They would tell me nothing, blamed it on Hippa Law. Ater several calls to 3 differnet corners, found the right one. He and other corners were shocked at the fact no family members were notified. He then read everything in his file. Dennis had a stroke, transfered to another county, placed in hospice where he died. But get this he died 1-4- 2005. ALL this time not knowing. Called funeral home told me he was buried and where. Called cemetary..records show his body not there. I heard that I instantly " THREW UP ALL OVER MY FLOOR " . After a few minutes calmed myself down and cleaned the mess up on floor, to now locate his remains. After several more calls, learned he was cremated. Now I stand here were more questions and nobody wanting to talk. All now being swept under the rug. I was also told his case is now ''OFICALLY CLOSE " Like he was trash forgotten and thrown away. Trying to deal with it I want to scream to all, how could this happen and how many people who don't have a voice for others to hear? My next step not sure, without getting myself in trouble by getting sued for something I might say. Can this happen again? WORRIED cause my mother is in nursing home and has a caseworker too, she suffers with brain damage.I don't know where to turn or who. I do know now, I should have went to see my brother, even with this pls..so you see we do set our own self barriers. Let you know what else happens but I do feel like nobody will make call backs to me. Thanks my pls friends for letting me vent...huggs in Ohio.
