He works for a pharmasudical firm in the accounting dept. his job has him having to make spread sheets to calculate how many doses of a medicine will be made from a given batch. he used this knowledge to make me a spread sheet which i passed on to my doc so he would know how many pills to write the script for. you can use this as a model to calculate your amounts. The spread sheet figures out the max amount based on increasing every 3 days. then it adds up the total number of pills per month. The doc then divides that into equal amounts to write the prescription. For example: I was taking 5 doses each day but not every dose was the same amount. But for the script he wrote 4 times a day so that the number of pills would be able to be divided evenly. This post from the group will not allow me to make an attachment so i will attach the file in a reply to my own post. You can adapt the calculation based on this model to suit your individual amounts/dosage. My husband is about to make me a 2nd calculation starting at 125mcg. Sharon

Guest guest
Here is the next spread sheet. The calculation is for increasing by 6.25 every 3 days. I am assuming I will not need to go this high before clearing and then will have to drop back and decrease. But I am at 131.25 at the 7th week and still low temps (but steady) and pulse. For me it makes sense to have the 30 days prescription have more pills than i need since I pay a co-pay each time. so I pay the same no matter how many pills I get. I am still getting the 25 mcg pills since they are easier to cut into 6.25 quarters for the slow increases. I tried going 4 days at 125 mcg (I am doing 5 doses per day) and by the 3rd day temps dip a little. It looks like I will reach the end of the 12th week around Oct. 7th. I hope that these spread sheets are helpful. If you download the attachment and open it in microsoft excell you should be able to change the amounts to suit your needs. Sharon Remember! Guest guest
Thank you Val!!! That was a very good, concise explanation of what is really going on! I was wondering all along if it was/wasn't actually the length of time that the T4 was suppressed, not the amount of T3 we were taking in that gets us to clearing. Seems to be that it takes 12-14 weeks to clear with the T4 suppression, not getting to a certain dosage to clear. This helps sooooo much! Thank you again. From: T To: RT3_T3 Sent: Thu, September 2, 2010 5:27:50 AMSubject: Re: Re: A dosing calculation spread sheet I do nto think ANYONE needs ot go over 75-80mcg T3 by the 6-7 week point. Guest guest
That makes sense Val. I am not planning to raise as high as the spread sheet calculation. That is intedned more as a mathmatical calculation and not a dosing amount recommendation. I am going by what the temps/pulse indicate and keeping in mind the info on Nick's site. He stated that most people end up at about 75 to 125 mcg after clearance and that if one has raised to twice that before clearance to aleviate hypo symptoms they may need to drop back suddenly when clearance occurs. My temps and pulse are low and stable. At week 8 I am taking 125 mcg in 5 doses. My temps are in the mid 97s and my resting pulse in the high 70's to low 80's. I was on 5 grains NDT before starting T3 only which would have had me starting at 50 mcg as per Nicks conversion chart. i started at 25 and raised slowly to make it easier on my adrenals. So are you thinking that I am on too high a dose at 125 mcg at 8 weeks? I know to watch for temps dipping as a sign that adrenals are taxed. Thank you, Sharon Remember! Guest guest
OK. No, I feel pretty good. Much better than before T3 and better than when the dose was lower. Certainly not as good as when I was optimized before the RT3. Can't wait for clearance! I was thinking i was going to hit the end of week 12 oct 7th but I checked the dates again and the end of my 12th week will be sept 30. Ridiculous how that 1 week earlier made me more hopeful. I know it isn't an exact thing on when it will happen, still nice to know it might be sooner. Thanks for all you do for us! Sharon Remember! Dolls are people, too....have you hugged your dolls today? He works for a pharmasudical firm in the accounting dept. his job has him having to make spread sheets to calculate how many doses of a medicine will be made from a given batch. he used this knowledge to make me a spread sheet which i passed on to my doc so he would know how many pills to write the script for. you can use this as a model to calculate your amounts.> > The spread sheet figures out the max amount based on increasing every 3 days. then it adds up the total number of pills per month. The doc then divides that into equal amounts to write the prescription. For example: I was taking 5 doses each day but not every dose was the same amount. But for the script he wrote 4 times a day so that the number of pills would be able to be divided evenly. This post from the group will not allow me to make an attachment so i will attach the file in a reply to my own post.> > You can adapt the calculation based on this model to suit your individual amounts/dosage. My husband is about to make me a 2nd calculation starting at 125mcg. > Sharon>
