Guest guest
Boy Amy, I think it is wonderful that you can go on an overseas trip while dealing with these problems. Sometimes I wonder if I have high or low cortisol. I deal with the same things as you and I feel very sick. I could never go on a trip like that. I hope you do well and have a great time. I hope you can find the right doses to help you to feel better. Faith > > I am on week 11 of Cynomel and had issues the last couple weeks with racing pulse and higher temps, so I first backed off the Cynomel but it was still happening and Val pointed out that it could be too much HC so I backed off that but backed off too much and had an adrenal crash. Now I have felt much better the last few days, but temp has occasionally been up again and pulse, even though I'm only at half the dose I was tolerating a few weeks ago. After my temp was 98.5 yesterday evening, then checked it right before bed and it had dropped to 96.4! That's the second time in a week it's dropped like that and I've NEVER had temps that low before. > > I don't think I've cleared because my temp is still most consistently 97 something. Pulse is somethimes back down to 75 bpm or so but then if I take more than 12.5mcg of Cynomel at once it seems to be too much. Not sure what to say my HC dose is now. I've still been trying to do 10-10-5-5-5 like I had been doing for two years, but just not stress dosing but I have also had some slightly stressful stuff in my life recently, both good and bad. > > Any ideas? I'm leaving for an overseas trip on Friday and want to figure out what is going on before I veer too far from home and computer. > > Amy >
Guest guest
Hi Amy: If you are " only at half the dose I was tolerating a few weeks ago " that sure sounds like clearance or very near-clearance. Sudden temperature drops are often adrenal issues. I am not knowledgeable enough about adrenals to give specific dosing recommendations, but I can say that for me a sudden temp drop usually means I need a little more HC. > > I am on week 11 of Cynomel and had issues the last couple weeks with racing pulse and higher temps, so I first backed off the Cynomel but it was still happening and Val pointed out that it could be too much HC so I backed off that but backed off too much and had an adrenal crash. Guest guest
Thanks for explaining. I thought maybe I had cleared, BUT, my temps now (unless I have a sudden drop which I have twice) are in the 97's, still MUCH lower than I would think I'd have after clearing. Pulse has still been on the average to high side. Other hypoT symptoms have stayed the same but are not ones I expect to change overnight (red bumps on backs of arms, swollen lymph nodes, dry hair, irregular periods). I haven't had a huge problem with fatigue, so I can't judge by seeing that improve. Amy
Guest guest
Thanks Faith. I'm sorry that you don't feel up to traveling yet, but I hope that you do soon! I am nervous about it because I worry that something will happen and no one there (or even my family) understands the medications or the situation or anything. I have my thermometer ready for taking temp, watch for pulse, and extra meds in both my check-on and carry-on bags just in case! Have you had your cortisol tested? My sister is on the path to low cortisol but in the early stages she actually shows high nighttime cortisol in her rhythms. She gets infections easily and is a high-stress, anxious kind of person. The people on the boards helped her get started with some natural therapies that will help her since she is only in the very early stages of adrenal fatigue, and hopefully prevent her from ever having to go on hydrocortisone!
