Guest guest
It is possible for her to do OK on Armour now, but I've read many more posts from people who tried going back to Armour, only to see their RT3 build up again. Moderator Nick's website has a page on this: http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/swapping.htm Tough to say how long it will take for her to crash, if she does. Moderator Val was on Armour for less than a week and she could feel the adverse RT3 effects. I was on Armour for nine weeks when my RT3 got so high the Armour was no longer effective, regardless of dose increases. If it were me I'd order my own RT3 tests at least once a month to see if RT3 levels are climbing. > > This is a very long story but I am just going to post a basic question here. > I have a friend who had RT3 and after about 6 months got levels down to almost nothing with 37 mcg of T3.She is now under the care of an endo who does not recognize RT3 and he has put her on 1 gr Armour and said he will increase her dose if this is not enough. > She has been on it for about 5 days and is doing OK but her temp is around 96.I thought by now she would feel terrible but so far she hasn't noticed feeling worse. > Is it possible for her to do OK on Armour now? > If not how long will it take for her to crash? > Thanks > Chantal >

Guest guest
Thanks for the reply This is a very sad story.84 yr old lady who's son in law is a dr and they will not hear of RT3, so she will more than likely get worse. This infuriates me but my hands are tied.Sad situation. Guest guest
It IS infuriating. Moderator Nick's website says " The main symptom of RT3 issues is that of hypothyroidism that won't respond to treatment. " from http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/whatare.htm Why can't doctors recognize this?!?!?!? Dr., my RT3 problem and I are SITTING RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. > > > Thanks > > > Chantal > > > > > >
Guest guest
Maybe they will at least keep her iron levels up. (Ferritin 70-90, % saturation 35-45). Even an RT3-ignorant doctor may comprehend the overall importance of healthy iron levels and agree to help her achieve and maintain them. If her RT3 is caused (wholly or partly) by low iron, she will stand a better chance this way. Similarly, elderly folks are often b12-deficient, the most ignorant Dr. on earth should still agree to a b12 test and supplementation (injections? sublingual?) if necessary. > > > Thanks > > > Chantal > > > > > >

Guest guest
I had a dr who would work with RT3 adrenal issues but she went down hill due to taking too much Vicodin which I think was because she was still having hypo symtoms and the Vicodin made her feel better. She went to stay with her daughter to get off the Vicodin and daughter decided to take matters into her own stupid hands and dismissed RT# and adrenal issues. She had many of the reasons listed on Nick's site for RT3 so not knowing if any of those had changed,it is hard to know if her body will now respond to Armour. She's old and has it in her head that she always felt good on Armour.I always felt good on Armour too, till the mercury issue. From then on it was a nightmare. > > > > Thanks > > > > Chantal > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
A woman past menopause doesn't lose iron. In fact, the only way to get rid of iron is through a blood draw. If you eat iron rich foods and take supplements with iron in them it will only build up, but never go down. <>Roni Immortality exists! It's called knowledge!
