Guest guest
I am not sure the Ferritin is so important when her saturation is good. But the intolerance of T3 is an i,mportant clue. I would say wiht good sat and her very low ferritin she shoiudl take SOME iron but low amounts as her body cannot utilize or hold any higher. Because of T3 intolerance i have ot think you still need SOME iron,. but it may take aklot longer ot get your ferritin up than it would someone wiht normla low saturation labs. These imbalanced iron labs are caused by long term chronic illness so are unlikely ot be easily or quickly remedied, and you just have to move slower than others have had to. I do nto knwo if oyu can clear Rt3 wiht thta low a dose of T3, if it is not supressign your T4 then I have doubts, but if your T4 is VERY low then yes, it may clear the RT3. http://www.nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://www.health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.faqhelp.webs.com/ http://www.health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ > thanks nick. > > Yes, i'm supplementing iron etc.. 90 mg a day working up to 180 mg... and know all about that part. > > it's the relationship between my iron labs and low ferritin that i was hoping to get some explanation about.. as in what does each thing mean? > > also, i've finally been reading a lot about rt3 clearance. i couldn't tolerate raising t3 so per your suggestion, i stayed at 25 mcg (6.25 4x day sulingual) for a while now. > > recently val suggested i do half that (12.5) in two doses (6.25 2x day) so as not to tax my adrenals.... > > would doing this still have anything to do with clearance??? i am unclear about having to raise in order to get clearance? or is it just about being on some amount of t3 only??? i am at about 4 or 5 weeks only on t3 ... > > thanks so much!!! > > >> >> >>> Iron Saturation 33 % range: 15 - 55 >>> >>> Ferritin 15 range: 10 - 291 >>> >> we are looking for a minimum saturation of 35% and a ferritin of 70. >> >> If your ferritin is low then you will need to supplement iron to be >> able to tolerate thyroid. >> >> >> Nick >> >> -- >> >> for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to >> >> www.thyroid-rt3.com >> >> For lots of good information of adrenal issues >> >> http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com/ >> >> and the adrenal group on >> >> http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ >> >> > > > > ------------------------------------ > > We are not medical professionals here, just patients sharing our experiences. Guest guest
> >Yes, i'm supplementing iron etc.. 90 mg a day working up to 180 mg... and know all about that part. Good > >it's the relationship between my iron labs and low ferritin that i was hoping to get some explanation about.. as in what does each thing mean? > I'm not an expert on iron, Val is more aware of the implications that I am. In a nutshell iron is used as part of the mechanism by which T3 gets into the cells and if it's too low anxiety is the sort of effect that you get, this is known as intolerance to T3 and is common with low iron and low cortisol. The sorts of numbers we are looking for on a test (not having taken iron for 5 days) are ferritin of 70 to 90 AND % saturation of 35% to 45%. When people have those numbers BOTH in place then they benefit from the T3 >also, i've finally been reading a lot about rt3 clearance. i couldn't tolerate raising t3 so per your suggestion, i stayed at 25 mcg (6.25 4x day sulingual) for a while now. seems reasonable, take as much as you can tolerate without the side effects > >recently val suggested i do half that (12.5) in two doses (6.25 2x day) so as not to tax my adrenals.... > For me more doses of less at a time was kinder on my adrenals >would doing this still have anything to do with clearance??? i am unclear about having to raise in order to get clearance? or is it just about being on some amount of t3 only??? i am at about 4 or 5 weeks only on t3 ... Clearance may take longer, it happens from when you can get your T4 levels low and that needs enough T3 to suppress TSH. This then turns off your own T4 production. Guest guest
I understand that money crunch.. Labs are eating ME for lunch too, SO wihtthat in mind, let's just wait for your other labs and see if the problem becomes obvious there wihtout further testing. If your adrneal labs look fine, then I would say at least FT4 to knwo if that amount of T3 is supressing it or not., http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ > Thanks Val and NIck.. I've been suffering from extreme dizziness, I've fainted a few times, and yeah i get anxiety big time. Plus I'm exhausted and still can't sleep a lot The dizziness is the worst. > > I do nto knwo if oyu can clear Rt3 > wiht thta low a dose of T3, if it is not supressign your T4 then I have > doubts, but if your T4 is VERY low then yes, it may clear the RT3. > > So would this suggest a t4/ t3/ rt3 test sooner than I had planned? I'm testing one at a time (finances LOW) and just did cortisol saliva dhea and sexy hormones. I was going to wait a few months for the t3 tests... which one would you suggest and how soon? I get my cortisol saliva test results at the end of this week > > thanks so much Val > > xo > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > We are not medical professionals here, just patients sharing our experiences. Guest guest
I would probably cut that in half. http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ > thanks Val! > so, .... > > " I would say wiht good > sat and her very low ferritin she shoiudl take SOME iron but low amounts as her body cannot utilize or hold any higher.
