Guest guest
I am still numb in my fingers and some toes. It started at the end of 2008. The past couple of months, when I inhale I get tingling back in my fingers so I assume this is a good thing. As far as I know, my glucose has always been low/normal but the last two insulin readings were around 16 and doc likes to see it under 5. I have felt pretty good the past couple of months with good temps except the weird numbness. My heart still beats heavy too and I can't figure it out. I can't help but think the numbness and heart pounding are related? Echo and EKG are fine. I searched ALA. Are you taking 1200mg still? Almost every website suggests 50-100mg to avoid side effects? Is there a particular form ALA that we should take? Would ALA work for other neuropathies, not just diabetic? Thank you
Guest guest
I have been on 1200mg a day of ALA for almost a year now and NO side effects. The side effects come from it blocking conversion of T4 ot T3, which I have no T4 so it si not a problem for me, or shoudl not be for anyone on T3 only. It also is a biotiin antagonist so Biotin MUST be taken wiht it. ALA and Benfotiamine are the two BEST treatments for neuropathy of any kind, along wiht glycemic control and making certin B12 is not an issue as well. i have also heard of neuropathy form LOW estrogen so I woudl try to optimize that too, and I am post meno and use mid-luteal ranges to adjust to. The Benfotiamine I took 450mg a day in three 150mg doses and then I was tkaing 600mg Jarow Sustain (2-3oomg ALA with Biotin daily) this reversed my neuropathy. Yes pain and tingling is a sgn of nerve healing. http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ > I am still numb in my fingers and some toes. Guest guest
Thank you. I'm on t3 only too. I didn't know that low estrogen could cause numbness. As far as I know, estrogen is good. > > I am still numb in my fingers and some toes. It started at the end of 2008.
