I can't open the file in your labs. But I can tell you this on T3 onyl

that is NOT a high FT3. With those same ranges I feel best at 620, and

my last labs at 550 I felt hypo and have increased. We have no back up

conversion fro T4 when on T3 onyl so we need MORE T3. I am betting you

need ot reduce HC at this point and that ios the cause of your hoghish

pulse, which 80's is not really high unless oyu are in really good

physical shape,

them in the group labs section under ' 's labs 7-2010.) I think my FT3

is a bit high, even by ya'lls standards! (516 with a range of 230-420.) The

thing is, I don't feel over medicated! I don't feel super jittery or nervous or

any other hyperthyroid symptom - or if I do it's really mild. Although my doc

did say that my heart rate was high and he thought it was the T3 - I think it

was in the mid 80's. Also, even when taking 50mcg my bowels slow down! Just

after doing these labs, I added 12.5mcg more and my bowels are moving a little

bit better. I'm thinking I'll stop that and just add more magnesium to see if

that balances out the bowels/not sleeping thing.

Progesterone, .1mg Florinef and a bunch of supplements/vitamins. Morning labs

were drawn at 8:07am, prior to me taking any medications yet that morning and

having been up for a little more than 2 hours (for the aldosterone). And the

afternoon cortisol was drawn just prior to my afternoon cortisol med. I know

all my adrenal hormone tests will be off since I'm taking them!

I posted it in a Word file this time. Maybe you can read that one?

Ok, so I'm ok with the FT3! Because I really don't feel as well on just 50mcg!

I feel only slightly hyper on the 62.5, but not really. I can try backing down

on the HC to see what that does. And no, I'm not in good physical shape! LOL!

I thought mid 80's was fine too.

It's funny because my TSH is like .06 and they want me to decrease my meds! Of

course, I won't! :-) I may have to make up the difference with meds bought

online and that is ok with me!

Would love to know what you think of my labs if you can open it. I can post it

in a new thread if you'd like me to.

Thanks so much!

Yes I gotthis one. Actually you can go a bit higher with the T3. The

lack of sleeping is proabbyl low ESTROGEN as yours is in the dirt. Your

aldosterone is HIGH for being on Florinef as it usuaully supresses it so

you may be able to redcue aldosteorn a bit. Estrogen being low can also

cause irregular heart rhythm and certainyl can mess up sleep. You also

have som einflammation markers that I htink a bit more T3 would helkp.

Your SHBG is pretty lwo which is indicating oyu can stnad to raise the

T3 more as well.

,How is your cortisol at night? I had a big problem with sleeping at night. I had never done a saliva test when all that happened. To find out I am in the dirt at first testing in the morning, but high cortisol at night. Now I am taking no Cortisol at night and 15 mcg of T3 at night and sleeping way better...RhondaNot sure if this helps you..

  • 2 weeks later...

I changed when I was taking my T3 - instead of all at night, I take it

throughout the day. I'm still not sleeping great. It seems a bit better, but

not perfect. Like tonight I'm still up, but I'm a little stressed and have a

headache. (I think I'm ovulating - which would explain the headache/insomnia.)

So, should I take more T3? I take 25 mcg at 8am, 25 at noon and 12 before

bed... If I was at 516 and need to be 600+ would another 12 get me there you

think? I'm having heart palps as is... not sure if more T3 will help or hurt

that. (Do I need to stress dose HC?)

How do I address estrogen? I take progesterone... should I reduce it? I take

20mg on days 5 to 25 of my cycle. (It seems like too much to me.)

I am reducing the Florinef, .025 at a time. How do I know when I've gotten to

where I need to be?

Do you still think I need to reduce HC? I have occasionally forgotten a dose

here and there and don't notice it all the time. After a few days I do, but

just one day I don't.

Sorry for so many questions. Just trying to sort all of this out!

Thanks so much!

OK FIRST and most important rule. NEVER change more thn ONE hormone at

a time. SO oyu are throwing out a lot of possibilities and no facts for

me to base an opinion on. LABS? I do use them for sex homrone adjustment

and cannot evn guss if they are enoughto cause symtpoms wihtout them.

Heart pounding and headache are VERY common hypo symptoms. PALPS are a

hypo or low estrogen symptm. Or you may stil need Florinef what is your

pulse? BP? Pulse and BP and electrolytes are how we adjust Florinef.

I didn't trim my post so that the post where you recommended me do those changes

was right under my new post. Guess you didn't see it! ;-) I was just trying

to make sure I understood what you wanted me to do. It's been 2 weeks since I

posted on this, so I had left it for reference.

You told me my aldosterone was high and that I probably needed less Florinef, so

that's why I started reducing it. That's the only hormone I changed the dose

on, and that was about 3-4 weeks after I changed the timing on my T3. I wasn't

planning on changing the dose of anything unless you thought it necessary.

(Been on here for a couple of years, so I'm familiar with the rules!)

You told me my estrogen was low, so I was wondering if I was taking too much

progesterone and if taking less would help. Or should I supplement estrogen?

You told me my 516 T3 could actually go higher and that my SHBG and inflammation

markers meant I needed more T3 too, so I was asking if adding 12mcg more would

help.

Sorry for the confusion. :-)

Reducing progesterine will not raise estrogen but it may be countering

ti's effects if ti si too high a dose. Thus making you FEEL liek low

estrogen IF you have sex hormones labs please poist them with ranges as

if estrogen is LOW you simply need ot add estrogen. Doctors would have

us think that you adjust estrogen by ading or subtracting progesterone

and thtat si just not the way to d it. high estrogen is usually caused

by low cortils and high cortils can lower estrogen too low, but then

gettign T3 where it needs ot be can reduce free estradiol as well. Yes I

htink you need ot increase T3 a tiny bit. 6.25-12.5 woudl be the most I

woudl increase it.

I don't have any labs for estrogen. I used to take ERT for 15 years when I started menopause. It was very low at that time and I was having totally soaking hot flashes every 20 minutes 24/7. I stopped the ERT after that nurses study.

I've been hyp since my early 20s, had pneumonia along with mono when I was 15, came down with Fibromyalgia in 1997. I'm 74. My gyn said I don't need it now that I've stopped the ERT. Is this true? She didn't do any testing. I'm only asking this because since I came down with Fibro, I don't sleep well. Most of the time I just don't fall asleep and when I do I wake up several times.

There has been some improvement with the T3 therapy. I'm still taking Zolpidem, but I do find that I fall asleep sometimes watching TV at night which was unheard of for me before.

When I do wake up at night, I go back to sleep after a bathroom stop. I wake in the morning in lots of pain EVERY day. I literally cannot stay in bed once I'm awake in the morning because of the pain. I have a foam mattress which I changed from the innerspring one I had that had nothing wrong with it at all.

My question is would an estrogen test be in order, given my age and the fact that as we age cancer becomes more prevalent?

I don't have any labs for estrogen. I used to take

ERT for 15 years when I started menopause. It was very

low at that time and I was having totally soaking hot

flashes every 20 minutes 24/7. I stopped the ERT after

that nurses study.

I've been hyp since my early 20s, had pneumonia along

with mono when I was 15, came down with Fibromyalgia in

1997. I'm 74. My gyn said I don't need it now that I've

stopped the ERT. Is this true? She didn't do any

testing. I'm only asking this because since I came down

with Fibro, I don't sleep well. Most of the time I just

don't fall asleep and when I do I wake up several

times.

There has been some improvement with the T3 therapy.

I'm still taking Zolpidem, but I do find that I fall

asleep sometimes watching TV at night which was unheard

of for me before.

When I do wake up at night, I go back to sleep after

a bathroom stop. I wake in the morning in lots of pain

EVERY day. I literally cannot stay in bed once I'm awake

in the morning because of the pain. I have a foam

mattress which I changed from the innerspring one I had

that had nothing wrong with it at all.

My question is would an estrogen test be in order,

given my age and the fact that as we age cancer becomes

more prevalent?

My labs are in the 'labs' section... forgot to mention that in my last post.

But here are some of them...

Reverse T3 <5 (11-32 ng/dL)

Free T3 516 (230-420 pg/dL)

Free T4 0.2 (.8-1.8 ng/dL)

TSH 0.6 (.4-4.7 mIU/L)

Cortisol AM 16.9 (4-22 mcg/cL)

Cortisol PM 1.6 (3-17 mcg/dL

Sex Hormone Binding Globulin 42 (11-100 nmol/L)

IGF Binding Protein-3 5.3 (3.4-7 mg/L)

DHEA-Sulfate 83 (25-220 mcg/dL)

Ferritin 178 (10-232 ng/mL)

Progesterone 0.5 (Follicular <1.4 ng/mL)

Aldosterone 7 (Upright 8-10 AM < or = 28 ng/dL)

IGF-1 395 (50-303 ng/mL)

Renin, Plasma 0.54 (.25-5.82 ng/mL/h)

Estradiol, Free 0.94 (Follicular .43-5.03 pg/mL)

My temps have been crazy the last few days, but I think I ovulated. I'm really

feeling hyper or anxious or something. This morning it's much better, but I was

horrible yesterday. Is that the lack of estrogen?

And here are my original questions...

>

I changed when I was taking my T3 - instead of all at night, I take it

throughout the day. I'm still not sleeping great. It seems a bit better, but not

perfect.

So, should I take more T3? I take 25 mcg at 8am, 25 at noon and 12 before bed...

If I was at 516 and need to be 600+ would another 12 get me there you think? I'm

having heart palps as is... not sure if more T3 will help or hurt that. (Do I

need to stress dose HC?)

After a few days I do, but just

one day I don't.

Sorry for so many questions. Just trying to sort all of this out!

Thanks again!

OK your thyroid labs are almost perfect but oyu might be able to use a

BIT more T3 just a tiny bit. Your cortiosl is low. Not horribly low but

low none the less. Without a saliva test I owuld try some Isocort. Your

SHBG is NOT as high as it should be proabbyl su to low estrogen an lo

testosteorne. Which means youre T3 is unbridled and not working as well

as it could be for you. I relaly think SHBG binding is a very important

thing. But you need good levels of T3 testosteone and estrogen to get it

right. I DO think many of your symptopms are low estrogen related but

your progesterone is on the low side as well so you may need to

supplemnet both . Your aldosteorne is lwo. Add some Licorice root ot

this other recommendations. It will help your coritls and give

mineralcorticoid effects oyu need.

That study was done on low dose combinations of synthetic estrogen and synthetic

progestin - premarin was one of the drugs. It is literally made from pregnant

mare's urine!

The hormone replacement encouraged here is bio-identical. Bio-identical hormone

replacement has a much better track record than the synthetic. I use a

compounded cream of biest (10% estradiol, 90% estriol), testosterone and chrysin

along with a troche (dissolves under the tongue) of progesterone.

I'm with Val on this - the loss of sex hormones is what ages us, why would we

want to accept that when we can supplement the hormones and feel healthy?

Actually, Val uses premarin and she had a respond I read on here somewhere as to

why she didn't think that test study was fair on Premarin safety.

Premarin was NOT the problem in the stiudy the synthetic progestins

were. They have since done studies wiht Premarin and bio progesterone

thta hasd NONE of those horrid effeects, I tak ePremarin and believe

firmly it is one of the very best estrogen replacements ther eis

especially for women that have had hysterectomies. When I was younger

and had my hyst I treid wevery combo out ther eand NOTHING worked fo rme

but Premarin.

I'm on 30mg cortisol - have been on cortisol for 2 years (because of this

board). In a previous post in this thread, you told me I might need to lower my

cortisol. I was also on .1mg Florinef and you said I might need to lower it.

I'm now confused!

Meds:

cortisol 10/10/10mg

T3 25/25/12mcg

Florinef .075mg (just lowered it a few days ago per your suggestion)

Progesterone 20mg on days 5 to 25

Testosterone 1mg 3 days a week - just started that a couple of weeks ago

Here are the questions from my original threads....

> > My temps have been crazy the last few days, but I think I ovulated. I'm

really feeling hyper or anxious or something. This morning it's much better,

but I was horrible yesterday. Is that the lack of estrogen?

>

> I changed when I was taking my T3 - instead of all at night, I take it

throughout the day. I'm still not sleeping great. It seems a bit better, but not

perfect.

> So, should I take more T3?

After a few days I do, but just

one day I don't.

> Sorry for so many questions. Just trying to sort all of this out!

Thanks so much... hopefully I have it all together now...

OK whel being on HC cortisol labs are NOT accurate so throw out my

whoel response as I did nto realise you were on HC. Aldosterone labs are

also useless while on Floirinef.

OK Temps are not stable which means you may need more HC. My previous

recommendation was based on your labs. which are totally not accurate.

If estrogen is low it MAY be causing aome of these symptoms so shouldbe

address just to help sort things out.
