Thanks a lot for all the support and suggestions. I wrote two messages several

hours ago but they seem to have got lost...

In any case I guess I will try supplementing testosterone. However, the cream I

got from the pharmacist says " Testosterone propionate " . I read this is not

bioidentical. Is there a better " type " of testosterone?

Many thanks again,

Hi ,

Well, I do get my testosterone compounded. My accupuncturist gives it to me as

they can write hormone scripts in New Mexico. You may have to see an anti-aging

doc or open minded OBGYN to get a bio-identical script.

Just don't tell them about your thyroid/HC issues and just tell them you are

there to optimize s*x hormones! :-)

Thanks for explaining. I am sorry, as I mentioned I just feel I have done and

tested everything that is considered relevant and still don't feel good. I do

feel " off topic " myself :).

Is the not feeling good at all physical or is it mostly the emotional? I mean,

do you have good, stable temps now, physical hypo symptoms gone?

I really think Val nailed it on the head when saying that if you believe thryoid

and HC are otpimal and you still don't feel well, you have to optimize s*x

hormones. You did say your testosterone is way too low and your estogen could be

low during the follicular phase. I know mine is because I would get hot flashes

and depression during that time period. But low estrogen causes tons of mood

problems as well as I'm finding out.

Then if that doesn't make you feel better, you have to start considering whether

you have infections or viruses, although that would be more related to not

feeling well physically. But for me, not feeling well physically has often made

me depressed. But usually I can tell when that is why I'm depressed, which is

different than the feeling out of control and depressed for no reason sort of

depression.

Hope you feel better soon,

Kathleen

Yes, I too have trouble differientiating physical from the emotional, as one

feeds the other. Generally have trouble getting out of bed AT ALL... Complete

lethargy, lack of motivation, get very hot/cold... I'm having trouble balancing

all the hormones--going through menopause is making handling Hashimotos MUCH

more difficult.

Thanks Kathleen,

Certainly my symptoms are mostly " emotional " (this has always been the case

since I crashed at 16 with a panic disorder). I have quite serious OCD (I mean

not just some tendency, but quite serious problems since I was 24) and

depression (maybe what is called low grade depresion, but sometimes it feels

pretty bad). I am also feeling very fragile emotionally. But I also have physcal

symptoms. I now have back pain and wrist pain (carpal tunel), which were

actually better when I was on Armour. I am also loosing hair (which was also

better on Armour). Other symptoms like dry eyes and blurred vision, constipation

and period pain are considerably better now. Maybe I am less tired in the

mornings now also. I had all the above physical symptoms when I was not treating

thyroid.

My temps are not at all stable, they jump a lot, both basal and daily average

temps. Also lately I have noticed that the lowest temp of the day is the one in

the middle of the day (the temp I take at 14:00/15:00 p.m.). I believe this one

should be the highest, isn't it? But I am already taking 37.5 HC, so I don't

know what else to do.

I am ceratin part of my " emotional " upset comes from the tremendous frustation I

feel about having tried almost everything (or so it feels) since more than 5

years ago to " feel well and get pregnant " and not having succeeded in either. I

have also lots of painful thoughts about what to do next and what is going to

happen with my future life. I guess this is stressing me a lot and not helping

my adrenals but it is something I have to face.

Can I write you privately? I am worried this will seem too off topic. OR can you

join the Adrenals CHAT gropu? We have SOOOO much in common, including the weird

temps, and I, too, have been an emotional wreck since trying to optimize t3 and

HC, especially this past month when, ironically, I finally have good ft3 levels,

which is even more perplexing. I have had episodes of panic attacks and

rerealization since I was 14 and this past month (after the DR almost being gone

just a few months ago) they returned with such vengence I feared for my sanity.

I also had to have my husband drive me everywhere as I was becoming afraid to

leave the house. So I do know how you feel. Also about thinking about facing the

future. However, I have a few thoughts, some things that I am trying based on

someone who was kind enough to write me.
