Guest guest
When you reach an impass liek this it is time ot get labs to see how high your FT3 really is. This is the final sorter. If it si alreayd at 6 or above it is unlikely oytu need mroe and someting else has ot be tweaked. If it si beloe 6 on most labs then it is not liekly to be the T3 causing the high pulse. http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ > I tried that last time I got high pulse (when I rised to 62.5 Cynomel) and I felt awful, I think actually my addrenals crashed. The high pulse started again recently when I upped the T3 dose again (now to 75), so I am pretty sure is T3 causing it, either because of intolerance or hyper. > If it is intolerance I have no clue about what to do, because, according to this group, everything that could cause intolerance is O.K. (iron, electrolites, aldosterone...) and if the problem is cortisol I don't what else to do, because as you said 37.5 is quite a high dose already. > > I actually feel like with a mixture of hyper and hypo symptoms. > I cleared many months ago and I don't seem to be able to find my " sweet spot " . I am very upset emotionally, completely exhausted after trying to do all this by myself for more than two years already. > Could it be that T3 doesn't work for me? > > Many thanks, > > > > >>> I am having problems rising T3. I am now taking 75 Cynomel and I would like to rise to see if I could feel better. I have had an awful month. I decided to go of the little bit of antidepressant I was taking (10 mg Anafranil) and I had a horrible month with panic attacks, insomnia, crying spells. >>> >>> However when I rise T3 I get a very fast heart rate (I wake up with good heart rate, about 80, but during the day it gets above 100). Also I keep loosing weight being already too thin. The fast heart rate happened to me before (when I went up to 62.5 T3) and it eventually improved (I don't know exactly why but the two things I did were to increase HC and to take 400 magnesium). >>> I have posted a lot here, but everything (iron, aldosterone, electrolites) seems to be O.K. according to this group. Only HC maybe wrong (although all the test I did before supplementing came out right), but I am supplementing 37.5 and still having problems rising T3. Could/Should I increase HC? what about increasing the magnesium dose? >>> >>> Thanks, >>> >>> >>> >>> >>> >>> >>> ------------------------------------ >>> >>> We are not medical professionals here, just patients sharing our experiences. Guest guest
MOnica as we get UNHYPO our SHBG which wil have been supressed by hypo goes up to a normal level. THUIS binds estrgoen and tetsoisteonre Your symptoms scream lwo estrogen. This wilk NOT be any better ona good dose of naturla than they are on T3 onyl. It is the things that change when we get out of hypothyroid . Sounds to me liek you have weak adrenal funciton which is not giving the proper signals or response to get the sex hormones right. I was feelign hyper/hypo until I raised BOTHestrogen and testosterone now thiings are near perfect. I am even able to tolerate progesterone for th efirst time in my life! This is things workign righ tbut they ALL have to be in place for pregnancy to happen. Years of hypo DOES downregulate everythign in the body particularly the sex hormones. http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ > The thing is that I am in a complete mess, I don't feel confortable about doing the T3 protcol anymore. One of the reasons is that I am 41 and haven't been able to get pregnant (I have been trying for many years). I am considering IVF, but I fear no clinic will " accept " me taking T3 only. Other reason is that I am so focussed on the protocol that I don't have any energy for other issues in life. I spent all my day cheking this and that and getting really depressed if temps are too high or too low, etc... Finally I am scared about the risks of forgeting the meds, having an accident and not being properly medicated, etc... > All these reasons I would put aside if I was actually feeling an improvement, but I can't say I do. I did experience clearance, my temps are higher, my pulse is higher, too high actually (so I guess T3 is getting into my cells), but I still have hypo symptoms (?), and emotionally I am a wreck. > I actually think all this is stressing me a lot and lately I am crying all the time and feeling really hopeless. It seems clear for me that the kind of psychological stress I am going through is hindering my progess, but I feel trapped. My worse sympoms have always been " psychological " , panic attacks, agoraphobia, OCD, derealization... and I see really no improvemt, actualy this August has been really bad. > > I am considering going back to Natural Thyroid (ERFA) and try to work my problems from there. > > Any comments will be most welcomed, > > > > >>>>>>>>> I am having problems rising T3. Guest guest
I am very interested in what the answer might be to supplementing testosterone with levels like yours and wanting to get pregnant.I am in exactly the same situation--except I AM undergoing ivf. My drs did switch me off of T3--but I think I had been on it long enough for my rT3 to have cleared a bit (although I know I am creating more rT3 now, but I have to just bite the bullet if I want the ivf treatment). My free testosterone never rose in value and it was almost zero. I had tried supplementing with DHEA (low dosage - 10mg a day) but do not believe I was converting it and have been wondering how it related to my rT3 problem (which I know is coming back from being put on T4 only). If DHEA is affected by high cortisol in converting, I can't see how that can be my problem because I am not taking much HC--unless my adrenals are over producing it and they are burning out? I am at a loss as to what to do.Subject: [bULK] Re: Problems rising T3 / How much HC can one take? BUMPTo: RT3_T3 Date: Wednesday, September 1, 2010, 10:29 AM Thanks a lot for your answer Val, Four months ago, just after clearance, I checked sex hormones, testosterone was very low, but estrogen was good I think: testosterone: 0.04 ng/ml (0.3-7) free testosterone: 0.86 pg/ml (range less than 2.6) (day 21 of cycle): progesterone: 20.49 ng/ml (3.28-38) estradiol: 222.7 pg/ml (31-247 pg/ml) As I said I have been hesitating to supplement testosterone because of wanting to get pregnant. The thing is that according to labs everything is right (except for testosterone) and I am starting to believe that my problems are psychological, like my doctor said. The truth is that I have tremendous mood swings depending on whether I think things are going right or wrong. And those thoughts seem to affect my whole body, like a vicious cycle. > >>>>>>>>> I am having problems rising T3. I am now taking 75 Cynomel and I would like to rise to see if I could feel better. Guest guest
OK I have to throw in my 2 cents here in regards to what you said about the doctor telling you your problems were all in your head. Have you visited the Stop the thyroid maddness website and read the doctors hall of shame page? Is this Doc a psychiatrist? Cause if he/she is not they have no business saying something like that to anyone. Just because they can't figure out how to help you/make you well they have no right to sya you are imagining things. While indeed some problems may be "in your head" that dosn't mean they don't have a biological origin. The brain and mood are affected hugely by hormones...all hormones, including the sex hormones, thyroid hormones and more. You absolutely need to get your hormones in balance. All of them. If you want to get pregnant it is even more important to get all this sorted out and solved before you add the risks and challenges of pregnency to the mix. You also need to find a doc who is going to support you and listen to you and not belittle you! Do your own reading and research and find a doc who supports this and wants to problem solve with you and not just sweep things under the rug or make you feel there is something wrong with your mental state. I recently went into the ER with a horrid disease called pityriasis rosea. there is no cure and little is known about it. i was in agony feeling like a kazillion fire ants were stinging my arms and legs. I sufferred with this for 10 hours. When the doc finaly came in after I had been in the ER for 3 hours I was crying because of the pain. The first thing he wanted to do was prescribe and anti-anxiety medicine. I was like, "Um, NO. I don't have anxiety....I have pityriasis rosea and i am in agony here. Go look it up!" So Honey, do not accept a doc saying that to you if you feel your issues are biological. Remember depression and mood issues can be caused by hormone imbalances and hypothyroidism. We are all here to support you. You need a doc who will also. best of luck, Sharon Remember! Dolls are people, too....have you hugged your dolls today? My drs did switch me off of T3--but I think I had been on it long enough for my rT3 to have cleared a bit (although I know I am creating more rT3 now, but I have to just bite the bullet if I want the ivf treatment). My free testosterone never rose in value and it was almost zero.
Guest guest
I must have missed it--exactly WHAT hormone is someone suggesting to be overlooked or not wanting to be in normal range/optimal to be pregnant? I didn't see that.I also didn't see anything about body builder dosages.I mentioned that my particular problem seemed to be with free testosterone being under normal (it is practically zero), which I wouldn't think is normal, let alone 'body builder' territory. Guest guest
I was simply sayign that a LITTLE testosteorne to bring your levels up to normal is a GOOD thing for preganacy. WHy would you want any hormone deficient to get PG? If the doc does nto want you to supplement Testosterone it is due to his prejudices abotu body biolders mis dosing to extreme levels nto US that need normal good levels to be healthy. http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ I must have missed it--exactly WHAT hormone is someone suggesting to be overlooked or not wanting to be in normal range/optimal to be pregnant?  I didn't see that. I also didn't see anything about body builder dosages. I mentioned that my particular problem seemed to be with free testosterone being under normal (it is practically zero), which I wouldn't think is normal, let alone 'body builder' territory. Subject: [bULK] Re: Problems rising T3 / How much HC can one take? BUMP To: RT3_T3 Date: Wednesday, September 1, 2010, 10:29 AM  Thanks a lot for your answer Val, Four months ago, just after clearance, I checked sex hormones, testosterone was very low, but estrogen was good I think: testosterone: 0.04 ng/ml (0.3-7) free testosterone: 0.86 pg/ml (range less than 2.6) (day 21 of cycle): progesterone: 20.49 ng/ml (3.28-38) estradiol: 222.7 pg/ml (31-247 pg/ml) As I said I have been hesitating to supplement testosterone because of wanting to get pregnant. Guest guest
Val, I was SO inspired by what you wrote below! So high SHBG as we get onto optimal t3, which then can cause low free estrogen, can actually lead to: I still have hypo symptoms (?), and emotionally I am a wreck. It's like WOW, is this what has been going on with me ever since I cleared t3 and got my ft3 to top of range? I keep asking WHY am I not better, but feel worse even? Thank you!!! > > MOnica as we get UNHYPO our SHBG which wil have been supressed by hypo > goes up to a normal level. THUIS binds estrgoen and tetsoisteonre Your > symptoms scream lwo estrogen. My worse sympoms have always been " psychological " , panic attacks, agoraphobia, OCD, derealization... and I see really no improvemt, actualy this August has been really bad.
