Guest guest
HMM your iron is actually a bit high. I would definitly stop supplementing if oyu have been. I woudl call the lab about that FT3. Yu NEED to have that and they shoudl just rerun it or at least explain wht they mean as I havn't a clue. It is hard ot say why oyu are havign the symptoms wihtotu knwoing your FT3. If it wi too high it wil lcause the same type symptoms as low T3 does. http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ > Iron TIBC 253 250-450 > > UIBC 116 150-375 > > Iron, serum 137 35-155 > > Iron, Saturation 54 15-55 > > TSH o.006 0.450-4.5000 > > T4 less than 1.0 4.5-12.0 > > T3, uptake 33 24-39 > > free T3 unable to calculate result since non-numeric result obtained for component test (what does this mean??) > > Ferritin 91 13-150 (woo,hoo, the highest ever for me!) > > So why am I feeling so tired and horrible?? > Thanks, > in CA > > > > ------------------------------------ > > We are not medical professionals here, just patients sharing our experiences. Guest guest
Thanks, Val. Should I just lower my iron supplementation or stop it altogether? I had thought that I would never be able to stop some iron supplementation. Ok, I'll try to call the lab. That's frustrating as I have to drive out of town to get them done... > > Iron TIBC 253 250-450 > > > > UIBC 116 150-375 > > > > Iron, serum 137 35-155 > > > > Iron, Saturation 54 15-55 > > > > TSH o.006 0.450-4.5000 > > > > T4 less than 1.0 4.5-12.0 > > > > T3, uptake 33 24-39 > > > > free T3 unable to calculate result since non-numeric result obtained for component test (what does this mean??) > > > > Ferritin 91 13-150 (woo,hoo, the highest ever for me!) > > > > So why am I feeling so tired and horrible?? > > Thanks, > > in CA > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > We are not medical professionals here, just patients sharing our experiences. Guest guest
Just got off the phone with the lab and they told me that they were unable to calculate my FT3 becasue my FT4 was so low (less than 1.0) and their machine only calculates the ratio of FT3 based on the FT4. That makes no sense to me but that's what they said. Now what do I do? I'd like to schedule a phone consult with you Val but would like to have the necessary labs for you to be of help to me. What should I do now? Thank you for your help, inCA > > > Iron TIBC 253 250-450 > > > > > > UIBC 116 150-375 > > > > > > Iron, serum 137 35-155 > > > > > > Iron, Saturation 54 15-55 > > > > > > TSH o.006 0.450-4.5000 > > > > > > T4 less than 1.0 4.5-12.0 > > > > > > T3, uptake 33 24-39 > > > > > > free T3 unable to calculate result since non-numeric result obtained for component test (what does this mean??) > > > > > > Ferritin 91 13-150 (woo,hoo, the highest ever for me!) > > > > > > So why am I feeling so tired and horrible?? > > > Thanks, > > > in CA > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > > > We are not medical professionals here, just patients sharing our experiences. Guest guest
Sorry, me again, I was just looking over my lab report and the " less than 1.0 " result is listed under Thyroxine (T4) so maybe I didn't have the FT4 tested, just the T4? I am so confused.... > > > Iron TIBC 253 250-450 > > > > > > UIBC 116 150-375 > > > > > > Iron, serum 137 35-155 > > > > > > Iron, Saturation 54 15-55 > > > > > > TSH o.006 0.450-4.5000 > > > > > > T4 less than 1.0 4.5-12.0 > > > > > > T3, uptake 33 24-39 > > > > > > free T3 unable to calculate result since non-numeric result obtained for component test (what does this mean??) > > > > > > Ferritin 91 13-150 (woo,hoo, the highest ever for me!) > > > > > > So why am I feeling so tired and horrible?? > > > Thanks, > > > in CA > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > > > We are not medical professionals here, just patients sharing our experiences. Guest guest
They are thinking of the thyroid uptake test nto a FT3., What idiots! I would ifnd another lab! Yes stop the iron as high is not good and wiht your T3 we HOPE high enough oyu will not tend ot lose iron as much. http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ > Sorry, me again, I was just looking over my lab report and the " less than 1.0 " result is listed under Thyroxine (T4) so maybe I didn't have the FT4 tested, just the T4?
