Guest guest
Hypertension in hypothyroid people is generally caused by high fluid VOLUME in the body. Our hearts are not beating effectively to movce fluid out of the body thus it buildto high volume and thus high BP. You are probabyl on too low a dose of T3 to get rid of this and also should have leectrolytes tested. My BP used ot run 245/1498 when I was very ill. I was on FOUR BP meds wiht no help and literally was dying. Why I did nto have a stroke is beyond me. but I had daily nose bleeds and headaches from HELL> ALL this is gone now! Igh doses of potassium and correcting LAL my hormones has brought thi into perfect balance. My BP now runs 110-120/60-70 fluid retenion is gone. http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ > I have been struggling with hypertension since I was diagnosed Hypothyroid. I am currently on 31.25 Cytomel, 30 HC, and Bluebonnet Iron. I am not sure if being hypoT is causing my hypertension or if my weight gain has caused my hypertension. I don't want to go on BP meds but am getting a little scared about the hypertension. It gets up to 160 on the top and 110 on the bottom. Any thoughts? > > > > ------------------------------------ > > We are not medical professionals here, just patients sharing our experiences. I have capsules of 10meq, also potassium citrate of 99 mgs each. I don't know how much to take, and am concerned about CHF. Any thoughts? <>Roni Immortality exists! It's called knowledge! Guest guest
Potassium does nto cause CHF it is one of the fixes for it, HIGH p[otassium in the SERUM (blood) is what causes irregular heart beats and can totally throw off the rhythm of the heart, BUT so can LOW potassium which they don't tell you. I bave HAD congestive Heart Failure. It was the beginniing of my battle wiht fluid retention. But it has taken MANY years of tweaking to correct btu it IS orrected and I am sure potasisum was part of that. The main thing to be safe with potassium is to adjust a bti thne DO LABS, I did electrolyte panels every 2 weeks for almost 3 months while I adjusted the dose. This kept me SAFE. Low sodium was also part of my fluid reteniton issues as was poor adrenal funciton. Which I am fallign back into again. I recently tried a little HC and immediately peed out 5 pounds. GRRRR This means I needed the HC,. http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ Val, you wrote> <Igh doses of potassium and correcting LAL my hormones has brought thi into perfect balance. Guest guest
This is so overwhelming for me. I'm dealing with Fibro, afib, hypoT, found RT3 and taking T3 only, arthritis and bad discs in my spine with stenosis, scoliosis and sciatica. I don't know whether I'm coming or going and I'm so sick of being sick. <>Roni Immortality exists! It's called knowledge!
