I don't have the link--but go to Stop The Thyroid Madness site and there is a list of labs.

What labs to get done for Fibromyalgia?

Hi All,I'm trying to get my mom to get some testing done to see if a high RT3 could possibly be a problem for her too.She had thyroid cancer years ago and had her thyroid removed. She has been taking Synthroid (or another T4 containing thyroid med) for years. Over the years she developed Fibromyalgia and now I'm beginning to wonder if that's because of her thyroid problems. She will see her doctor in a couple weeks and I'd like to give her a list of the tests she should have done. I know this past week there was an email chain going talking about this and unfortunately I didn't get a full list written done. Would someone be willing to sketch out again the tests that could be useful for her to have done? Thanks very much,Jen

Jen >>My doc diagnosed my fibro by certain pressure points on my body, they all hurt and then some. I was severely hypo at the time. Once I got on thyroid meds it did help but eventually doc put me on Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) and that did the trick for me. Kem in Eugene <º)))><

High dose Naltrexone 50 - 100 mg. is widely used to help heroin addicts body pain when they kick, the body goes through a living hell and it clips the pain so it's not so bad. It is not addictive. It's an opiod antagonist. Low Doses Naltrexone 1 - 4.5 mg. is used off label for fibro, it relieves the muscle pain and doesn't cause weight gain like the other drug the FDA just approved. There are several LDN yahoo groups that can help you, email me privately and I can give you the names if your interested. LDN also helps with MS and a host of other issues that have to do with muscle pain as well. I don't have to take it daily, it seems to build up in my system and I can go weeks without taking it. When I start getting fibro pain I take it for a few days and go off when the pain is all gone. Some people do take it daily, like I said, it isn't addictive. You can also google it and find where studies have been done to support it's use so you can take the info to your doc.<<Posted by: "jen_mohr_morse@..." jen_mohr_morse@... jenmarkov62Tue Aug 10, 2010 8:25 am (PDT)Thanks, Kem. I would be interested in a list of fibro groups. I have fibro and the hypo stuff is just great. I've not found anything to help with the pain. Thanks CindyTo: RT3 <RT3_T3 >Sent: Wed, August 11, 2010 12:14:41 AMSubject: Re: What labs to get done for Fibromyalgia?
