Guest guest
Hi : Hang in there, Moderator was on Synthroid for years and also had RT3 problems, and SHE'S doing a whole lot better! Have you read Moderator Nick's website? It is a must-read for those of us with RT3 issues. Here's a link: http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ Moderator Nick's website has the best in-depth info, but I'll try to give a very short summary here. Progress on an RT3 problem can be impeded by low iron and/or adrenal issues, (which so many of us here have had), so the order of action is: 1. Check iron status, address any problems 2. Check adrenal status, address any problems 3. Start on T3-only From Nick's web page: http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/dosing.htm Hope this helps. > > I'm completely confused on how to convert to see if I have an excessive RT3 problem due to years of Synthroid treatment, etc. I have Hashimotos after RAI treatment for Hyperthyroidism 10 yrs ago. > > My last lab results: > TSH 5.20 (.40-4.50 RANGE) > THYROID PEROXIDASE ANTIBODIES 51 (LESS THAN 35 IU/mL RANGE) > T3/FREE 235 (230-420 pg/dL RANGE) > REV.T3 35 (11-32 ng/dL RANGE) > > I have not been tested for adrenal fatigue, but have most of the symptoms. Any advice would be a blessing and appreciated more than you know! > > I also don't know order of action to take; I am completely miserable and at the end of my rope... >
