I was originally diagnosed with high rt3 >over 2 years ago, and I was on compounded t3 from Holtorf Med. for about 8 months and stopped taking it Jan. 09. It didn't do much, at the time anyway.... Sublingual was fine. I knew what I meant when I wrote that web page, I may not have been as clear as I could though as I put the whole RT3 site together in a week while working as well! What I tried to say was you can't take less than a quarter tablet, you need to spread it out; That means you can go up to 5 quarter tablets in a day in separate doses you can then start replacing quarters with halves 1 at a time so initially you may be on 1/4, 1/4 at 12 hour intervals then go to 1/4, 1/4, 1/4, 1/4 then a 5th dose at bed time 1/4, 1/4, 1/4, 1/4, 1/4 then one at a time go to half 1/2,1/4, 1/4, 1/4, 1/4, 1/2,1/4, 1/2, 1/4, 1/4, 1/2,1/4, 1/2, 1/4, 1/2, 1/2,1/2, 1/2, 1/4, 1/2, 1/2,1/2, 1/2, 1/2, 1/2, Then go up by half at a time 1, 1/2, 1/2, 1/2, 1/2, 1, 1/2, 1, 1/2, 1/2, 1, 1/2, 1, 1/2, 1 So you are increasing little at a time Each time you need to decide if you are ready for that increase, pulse, temperature, etc. Nick -- for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to www.thyroid-rt3.com
Guest guest
I always use four doses a dya which need ot be at leats 5 hiurs apart to keep from loading the dose on top of the last one. Once oyu are at 4 6.25mcg doses then you move the first dose to 12.5mcg then in 3-5 days move the third dose ot 12.5mcg then in 3-5 days the socond dose ot 12.5mcg then the last dose to 12.5mcg so all your doses at this poitn are 12.5mcg, then oyur next increase go to 25mcg in the AM leave the other doses the same, then in 3-5 days move ot 25mcg for third dose leaving other doses the same, then add to the other two times just as you did the first time around. Guest guest
Thanks Nick! Your website is amazing.... So, to be clear (I get confused easily, there's a lot of " directions " to digest)... If I took 1/2 at 6AM today, I'd stick to 1/4 at 9, 12, and 3pm? how much would I take for the 5th dose? 1/4 always, or just add a 5th dose?? Also, I noticed feeling sort of a " shock " feeling in my chest/ stomach area after the 1/2 today. If you've ever taken ritalin (I have) it feels kind of like that. It's also what I felt like on a very small amount of Naturethroid.... Does this go away? Is this normal (meaning body adjustment that is standard) , or a sign that it's too much? And if I read what you wrote correctly, I would then dose 1/2 6/7 am, `1/2 9/10 am, and 1/4 12 / 1pm , 1/4 3/4pm, etc... switching each dose out one day at a time from 1/4 to 1/2 per time slot (just one per day until all time slots are at 1/2) etcc...???? Thanks. Also, how would I know it's " working " properly? As I said before, the 37.5 mcg of t3 compounded I was on a couple years ago, I felt NOTHING. but I also was in TERRIBLE shape with a ton of other issues that were all severe (adrenals, cfs, fibro, epstein barr, insulin resistance, lady hormone problems, on andon.....) Thanks!!!!!! > > Sublingual was fine. > > I knew what I meant when I wrote that web page, I may not have been as > clear as I could though as I put the whole RT3 site together in a week > while working as well! > > What I tried to say was you can't take less than a quarter tablet, you > need to spread it out; > > That means you can go up to 5 quarter tablets in a day in separate > doses > > you can then start replacing quarters with halves 1 at a time so > initially you may be on > > 1/4, 1/4 at 12 hour intervals > > then go to > > 1/4, 1/4, 1/4, 1/4 > > then a 5th dose at bed time > > 1/4, 1/4, 1/4, 1/4, 1/4 > > then one at a time go to half > > 1/2,1/4, 1/4, 1/4, 1/4, > > 1/2,1/4, 1/2, 1/4, 1/4, > > 1/2,1/4, 1/2, 1/4, 1/2, > > 1/2,1/2, 1/2, 1/4, 1/2, > > 1/2,1/2, 1/2, 1/2, 1/2, > > Then go up by half at a time > > 1, 1/2, 1/2, 1/2, 1/2, > > 1, 1/2, 1, 1/2, 1/2, > > 1, 1/2, 1, 1/2, 1 > > So you are increasing little at a time > > Each time you need to decide if you are ready for that increase, > pulse, temperature, etc. > > Nick > > -- > > for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to > > www.thyroid-rt3.com >
Guest guest
Thanks! I was going by the timing schedule on Nick's website http://thyroid-rt3.com/dosing.htm " My dosing times are:- 7am 10am 1pm 4pm Bed time as I put the light out. " As I wrote earlier, I have been taking it sublingually... 5 hours apart would be sort of difficult for me due to bedtime hours, supplements, etc.... Would 4 hours apart work? Also, if I am taking it sublingually, do the " rules " about taking calcium and iron 4 hours AFTER only apply? I am told by Janie Bowthorpe this includes food with Calcium and Iron ( i forget what other things to avoid with t3 meds) It's a lot to manage!!!! Thanks!!!!! > > I always use four doses a dya which need ot be at leats 5 hiurs apart to > keep from loading the dose on top of the last one. Guest guest
Thanks NIck!! Ok one more question,please... Val said take 4 doses 5 hours apart, Your website suggested 3 hours apart 4 doses, and 5th dose before bedtime. I have not slept through the night in 5 years. I wake up between 4-8 times a night. (I've tried EVERYTHING. I mean LITERALLY EVERYTHING.) Can you please explain 1. why 5th dose? 2. Would 5th dose do anything besides help? (as in could it work against me in any way??) 3. Difference between 3 hours between doses and 5 hours between doses? As in what the advantages/ disadvantages would be. As of today, I wasn't sure what to do so I decided on the middle, at 4 hours apart. Insight would be SO HELPFUl..... THank you thank you thank you!! > > >Also, if I am taking it sublingually, do the " rules " about taking calcium and iron 4 hours AFTER only apply? Guest guest
For MY system, I can feel T3 doses ebb an dstop working abotu 6 hours after I take them. so FOR ME 5 hour dosing works to keep me from having lows and yet not load a second dose in top of one thtat si still wokring WELL. Some people burn through T3 faster than others, if oyu feel it drop betwen doses oyu can moe then closer to gether, Other wise I would start wiht 4 times a day dosiong at least 5 hours apart. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ > Thanks NIck!! > > > Ok one more question,please... Guest guest
Aha! Thanks Val, that makes sense... I am new to these meds, after not being on them for so many years it's a lot of info, and I thought they were " rules " sort of thing. I can personally feel an " itch " , does that make sense? at about 3 1/2 hours.... Thanks so much. Guest guest
Thanks Nick, Yes I have had SEVERE adrenal problems... I am taking a ton of stuff right now (I took cortisol when i originally got diagnosed a couple of years ago, which also did nothing at least as how I felt...) Drenatropin PRG (bovine adrenals) b5, dhea, selenium, gosh there's a LOT more... I also take something from Standard Process called Min Chex (it's got calcium, niacin, b6 and iodine, plus a ton of other stuff in it) Is high cortisol why i sweat BAD when I sleep? like the back of my neck up to my hairline and my chest , I wake up SOAKED through the night, and even when I nap during the day I can sweat like this!!! I also get terrible nightmares! ???? I've been marking my temps per dr. rind graph for a couple of weeks now, and a week and a half ago I avg. at 98.4!! since then I'm averaging between 98.6 and 98.2 each day, with the last 4 days or so all averaging at 98.4 ** but my temp. is low first thing in the a.m. (97.9) ** not sure if this means anything??? > > >I have not slept through the night in 5 years.
???? Guest guest
I'm currently taking 20mcg am, 15 mcg lunchtime, 15 mcg dinner time and 20 mcg before bed. They are all 5 hours apart. Could this swelling be because I need more T3, like adding 5 to first one and then to the other two daytime doses? Don't worry Val, I'm waiting to see what the blood tests show before I change anything, but would like to know what your opinion is about this. <>Roni Immortality exists! It's called knowledge!
