Guest guest
SOrry but this is best addressed on the adrenals group, thanks, I'm wondering if i should start taking florinef. I had my aldosterone checked, but did not follow protocal. (i hope this isn't too off topic)I did not avoid salt intake - i feel like a zombie if i don't have large amounts of salt - and i'm talking about 3000 mg of sodium. Also my labs weren't taken in am. I'm too weak to drive and my husband could only take off in pm. My resting pulse lowers by 12 bpm after salt consumption. I'm significantly less bloated after salt intake. my aldosterone from Aug 18 was 10 (range <28) I talked to my doctor about this and she wouldn't agree to florinef. So before i seek an outside source, I would like opinions on this. Thank you, Tonia > > > > >  > > > > >> Brief History: > > > > >> I have hashi's, s/p RAI 1999. Untreated for years b/c labs were " normal. " Confirmed adrenal fatgiue, so bad that I became and still am bed ridden since June 2010. Found Dr. that treats adrenal but she admits she has lot to learn and knows little to nothing about RT3 issues. Labs results received on June 25 revealed RT3 ratio of 8 so I discontinued Armor, previously I was on synthroid. Once my temps were stable on HC, I started Cytomel 5mcg for one week, then increased to 10mcg a day per doctor. I've been on Cytomel for a total of 11 days. My ferritin is low 21. I've switched from ferrous sulfate(my ferritin went down on ferrous sulfate) to iron bisglycinate in hopes that will raise levels. I have very low progesterone †" actually my levels were at zero. Also have gluten and soy allergy and I'm vegan. My vit d is 41. > > > > >> Question: > > > > >> I'm confused if I'm doing the right thing overall, but especially in terms of dealing with the RT3. Will the " decaying " begin once I stop T4 or does the adrenals have to be stable prior to the T4 levels deminish? My temps were stable for a few days prior to starting cytomel †" within .2 daily. But a week later , they are all over the place. 97.4 -98.3. I just don't know what to do or what to be more concerned with. RT3, adrenals, fluctuating temps or all of the above? I'm just really paranoid I'm doing the wrong thing and I no longer want to be bed ridden nor deal with depression, dry skin, bloating, etc.   I know everything takes time, but I so desperately wish to regain some quality of life back soon. > > > > >> > > > > >> Any help or advice is much appreciated. > > > > >> Tonia > > > > >> Current meds > > > > >> Cytomel 10mcg > > > > >> HC 10-10-10-5 > > > > >> Vit C   1000mg > > > > >> Vit D   3,000 IU > > > > >> Vit E   400 IU > > > > >> Iron   50mg †" iron bisglycinate > > > > >> Folic Acid    800mg      > > > > >> Omega 3   1000mg > > > > >> Betaine Hydrochloride with pepsin 600mg > > > > >> Polyvitamin        > > > > >> Adapt vitamins > > > > >> Magnesium glycinate   800mg > > > > >> > > > > >>   > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ------------------------------------ > > > > > > > > > > We are not medical professionals here, just patients sharing our experiences.
