One of the ways I know I need an increase (or even forgot a dose) is

that my right ear feels full of fluid. Suffered with it for years

before starting thyroid replacement.

Not much help--hope she feels better soon.

i dont think she needs an increase but i dont konw for sure!!her bp was 117/59 before she left so that had me concerned ..it seemed like a weird spread...no she is not charting her temps...she just left for her 1st yera of college..i am lucky to have a basal !! realistically i dont think she can do temps for a while at least until she gets settled and figures out a routine...she starts school on monday and then will be in a bit more of routineher temp last night at 10 p.m was 99.9 with her pulse at 84...does this sound like a sickness or too much T3?? she said her ears feel full...not hurt really just full like they need to pop...told her to call me this morning after taking her temps...

Dawn,

It just sounds like she is sick and nothing more.

Diane

yes i will ask her that is a good idea...she always had some high morning cortisol and so she takes melatonin...but 1 time for 3 days or so she took zinc too and her basal temps dropped a lot..and so far they have not come back up..my concern now is that she is either sick or hypo...her temp last night at 10 pm was 99.9 and this morning at 9 it was 99.3...so how do i tell if she is sick or hyper with those temps??thanks for the support...wouldnt you know she would leave for college and then ...would hit the fan!!Subject: Re: could someone advise me pleaseTo:

Hugs to you, Dawn! I know we talked a bit and I don't envy you trying to take of this while your daughter just left for her 1st year of college! YOu are a very good mom. :-)

BTW, basals can be weird sometimes because they often change based on how much cortisol you have at night or how you take your thyroid meds, too. Mine were really high when I had high cortisol and then they go low now if I don't take enough HC at night. So it makes it confusing, to be sure.

Can she at least try to take a midafternoon temp, just one, to see if it's 98.6? Usually, if you're not hypo, your midafternoon temp will be 98.6.
