meds of any kind don;t skew the RT3 lab. Either it wil be higher or

lower or the same and that will tell if your meds are workign to reduce RT3.

while on dessicated thyroid reflect whether the RT3 is being cleared?

the T4/T3 combo is working? Or are lab values skewed once you are on any type of

T4 or T3? What should I look for next time labs are done?

The ratio is valid while on thyroid meds as long as you don't take any

for 10 to 12 hours before the test.

it depends on what your actual RT3 was whether this will get you

feeling well though, if the RT3 was towards the top of the range then

you will have receptor blockage and will need to go T3 only for 12

weeks to clear that,

If the ratio was very bad because FT3 was low but RT3 stayed under 230

or so then increasing the FT3 by going onto combination meds may do

the job

> Hi Nick,

My RT3 was 199 range of 90-350

FT3 was 3.0 range of 2.4-4.0

I am taking sustained release meds every twelve hours. Does the 10-12 hour rule

still apply? Should it be 24 hrs for SR meds?

Thanks so much,

Amy
