Guest guest
I think taking things because others may need or use them is a very dangerous thing. Most of the time people do manage to get enough potassium. It's only when their diet is extremely lacking as in the restrictions on someone diabetic that supplementation is necessary. Yes, potassium can cause a heart attack. My cardiologist has cautioned me about this. I think it's a good idea to try to get an electrolyte panel and discuss with the doctor how much of each thing we need and how best to accomplish that. I have an appointment tomorrow with my cardio and I do want to have this discussion with him, because of water retention and swelling. <>Roni Immortality exists! It's called knowledge! Guest guest
Was that the first time you took potassium? If I were you, I would back off and start slower. See what happens. Potassium can be hard on the stomach. Best taken with food if it bothers you. As for yesterday, any excess should be long gone by now. Dorothy > Val, I yesterday I took 69mlq of potassium. Guest guest
Roni, those of us experiencing low Potassium problems and looking for guidance from Val need to hear from her. It's insulting when you accuse people of " taking things because others may need or use them. " For various reasons some people on this board have trouble with K levels. Val is extremely knowlegable about it and has posted extensively on it. You may want to do a search with her name and potassium as the subject matter and become informed. Guest guest
Roni, because I am the list owner here and people value MY advice they often post directly to me on the group with my name in the subject or body of the message. I do nto encourage private emails as I read group mails first thne IF I have time I read personal emaisl. I also take deliberate time OFF my groups as I get burned out as I have done this 6-8 hours a day for the last 12 years or so. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ If you want a message to go to Val only, you'll have to email her directly. Guest guest
Kerry you are making an assumption, and berating me for what is in your own mind. I have also been trying to find out about my own potassium intake, so what you think I meant by what I said is your own interpretation. As a matter of fact Val felt someone was using too much potassium too. It would be nice if you didn't attack me before you knew what I was actually saying. I meant nothing bad to that person, and was concerned for her welfare. I am on this group because I have problems too. <>Roni Immortality exists! It's called knowledge!
