Your basal temop should be between 97.8 and 98.2 so yours is too high.

Your pulse is also quite high and your BP indicates your adrenals are

barely there, so I would definitely lower T3 at this point.,

Hi Nick or Val,

I am in week 11 of T3 only and now taking 81.25

mcg of

Cynomel. My basal temp, under my arm, is 98.4 as of this morning but

normally

around 98-98.2. Last night we were watching television and all of a

sudden I

felt like I couldn’t swallow, as if phlegm was blocking my throat. This

had

the effect of making me panic and the panic attack lasted for several

hours. I

was particularly dry having had tortilla chips earlier, so I thought

perhaps

the dryness was the issue. However, I just had it happen again on the

way to a

store. I didn’t bring water along, so I couldn’t sip water and I

could feel the panic again. Do you think this is something to do with

the T4

decaying? Should I decrease my cynomel and see if it improves. My pulse

is

pretty good at rest: 78-89 bpm and my blood pressure is 116/74 at rest.

Any

exertion will increase my pulse to 112 and my blood pressure to 117/86.

When I

last increased I pulse was acting up and at one point it was 132 bpm

but that

quickly went back to normal. I feel the impulse to panic is increasing

and I am

not fond of it.

Do you have any idea what might be going on?

Kris

Okay so what should I reduce to? I know people have talked about half. I have

already had 43.75 mcg today, so I wonder if I should hold off having anymore.

Also since my adrenals are showing fatigue I will run my numbers by you that I

got in April 2010.

morning-7.9 range 3.7-9.5

Noon-1.2 range 1.2-3.0

Evening-.8 range .6-1.9

Night-.4 range .4-1.0

I have tried Isocort but it really didn't make me feel any better and perhaps a

bit more anxious but I have seen people with similar numbers go on a 3-3-2-1

regimen and now that I am showing stress on my adrenals I wonder if I need to

try it again. It would seem that Hysone would be overkill. I do take sea salt,

magnesium and B vitamins and two days ago I started Rhodiola.

Thanks Val,

Kris

Val,does it sound like the T3 is just pooling? This is probably not clearance,

right? I will decrease to 75 mcg for now but should I stay the course at that

level or still try to increase when my basals are down somewhat as directed on

the RT3 page on increasing?

Thanks,

Kris

Sometimes I get that too. I don't really know what it is, but it feels like I can't breathe, and that produces a panicky feeling. I'm alone, so I have only me to rely on so I can't afford to panic. I

force myself to calm down while I'm trying to find a way to breathe. I agree with you it's very scary.

Thanks Roni, it does help to hear that someone has experienced the panic

feeling. I am better tonight but I am still swallowing oddly and fearing that

the feeling of not being able to swallow will happen again. I have decreased my

T3 back to last week's level of 75 mcg and I will see if that helps. In the

meantime I will just breathe deeply and drink lots of water.

If it doesn't get better and you are concerned you might want to talk with your doctor, just for the peace of mind, if nothing else.
