Guest guest
my thyroid journey began in 2001 when i was given rai for thyroid nodules.Within 6 weeks i had symptoms of hypo, returned to endo who said " this isn't anything to do with rai must be someyhing else wrong " i never returned to see him .Later that year on thyroxine 150mcg i developed trigeminal neuralgia and 2 years later pneumonia .i tried armour thyroid ,thyroxine and was prescribed t3 only but no more than 60mcg. My health is quite a lot better now i take prednisilone 5 mcg per day but i have had to increase my thyroid meds to 7 grains erfa plus 120 mcg t3 this shows i have thyroid hormone resistance i have my meds on nhs as my brother in law is a gp and so long as i produce research based topics he will prescribe. My big problem is exercise i start to shake, muscle pain, feel sick and need to sleep it takes hours for me to recover do you think i have rt3 or is this a cortisol problem? Guest guest
Heidi, The same thing happened to me. I had PERFECT ft4 but very low ft3. Well, the stupid doc insisted I take Armour PLUS t3. Plus they never bothered to address my low iron situation. Well, since I make tons of rt3, I never really improved and it stressed my adrenals big time and made them much worse off. My original saliva results were not that bad, but because docs put me first on Synthroid and then Armour, my adrenals crashed on me. Luckily, I am improving now (FINALLY!) with t3 only, HC and Florinef. Val says getting rid of the rt3 problem heals adrenals, so I am hopeful!
