Guest guest
Flu like symptoms definitely sounds adrenal. I would NOT raise T3 in fact it might be good to reduce a bit to see if it lessens these sympotoms. If it does you need ot revisit some adrenal support. http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ Hi, I am in my 4th week, at 75mcg for the past 2 days (today makes it the 3rd day at this dosage). I am experiencing an exacerbation of fibro symptoms, leg pain, shoulder pain and also now headaches. I generally feel like I have an ongoing bad case of the flu with bad shoulder pain. I take B-12, liquid magnesium, etc., however, I don't take adrenal support b/c adrenals were OK 6 mos ago when tested, and when I took Isocort for a couple days to help out adrenal stress, the Isocort made me feel hyper and anxious. Also sea salt 3-4x/day. It is hot and humid here with some weather coming through, but I have stayed inside w/ air conditioning, as the heat intolerance is also bad. My basal temps are pretty much steady at 97.4 (started out at 96.2) for the past 4 days. Temps are a little lower today. I have been having these symptoms all day, BP 114/76, pulse 83. Headache is getting worse and have a flu-ish, woozy feeling. Do I increase my dosage tonight by the 6.25 I was going to? I don't know if I should increase dosage of T3, keep it the same, etc. I have been going up slowly, hoping adrenals were keeping up, and thinking they were since I could not tolerate any adrenal support. My ferritin is right along the acceptable bottom level at last test in July, but I have continued supplementing. I have had sea salt 3x today and still have the flu-ish, woozy feeling. Help? Thanks again, seems like this is happening about once a week. Guest guest
Thank you Val. I will not raise the T3, I will decrease by 6.25 off my bedtime dose and stick with that for a couple days. Should I try some Isocort again, starting tonight? What is a good low dosage to start, 3-3-1-1? Should I take a couple tonight yet? Last week when I tried taking it (I lasted two days), it gave me a severe headache during the nights and a uneasy feeling, I will give it a try again if you think I should. Thanks in advance.NanciTo: RT3_T3 Sent: Tue, August 31, 2010 6:43:11 PMSubject: Re: Help w/ Dosage Flu like symptoms definitely sounds adrenal. Guest guest
It's not safe to make assumptions like that about your adrenals because you risk crashing, ie, that they're ok because Isocort made you feel bad. To see how your adrenals are doing you need to either get the saliva cortisol testing, which is the best, or take your temps per Dr Rind--what Nick told you is the " poor man's " way. Basal temps have nothing at all to do with adrenal functioning. Join the adrenal group and read all the info in their files about how to do it. You can download the chart. You take your temp 3 hours after waking up, 3 hours after that, then three hours later, then average them for that day. You then compare them, with the goal being not to have them differ by more than .2 degrees from day to day. T3 can pool in the blood and not get into the cells if your adrenals aren't supported, so raising without taking the time to do the protocol the right way can end up being self-defeating. Hope this helps. Kerry > > Hi, > > I am in my 4th week, at 75mcg for the past 2 days (today makes it the 3rd day at > this dosage). Guest guest
Thank you Kerry. I have to keep checking adrenals the 'poor man's way' for about another month. When I did the eye test it was OK, as well as the blood pressure. I am feeling better today (relatively speaking) and did get some sleep last night, as I decreased my dose yesterday. I will stay with this dose a couple more days and try to increase by 6.25 again. I haven't had much for problems increasing the dosage until now, so this may be a sticking point for me for whatever reason. I will continue to re-check adrenal until I can buy a saliva test. My temp averages have been within approx .4 for the past week, with yesterday being a weird anomaly. Today am back to feeling non-flu-ish and grounded. Thanks again for your info. To: RT3_T3 Sent: Tue, August 31, 2010 9:58:30 PMSubject: Re: Help w/ Dosage It's not safe to make assumptions like that about your adrenals because you risk crashing, ie, that they're ok because Isocort made you feel bad. Guest guest
You're welcome, Nanci. Just to reiterate, it's *very* important that your temps be within .2 degrees for 5 days in a row before you increase--it's an essential part of the protocol, or you can crash your adrenals. I had it happen when a doctor gave me too much T3 before I knew about these groups. It is no fun, and very hard to recover from. You may find that you need to continue to decrease until you can get your temps stable within .2 so that your adrenals are supported. It will save you time in the long run. Join the adrenals group so you can see how careful people are with taking their temps per Dr Rind, not basal temps, and so that you can read all the information available, including FAQ's. Also to see how careful Val is to never ever recommend any kind of adrenal support, ie Isocort, without saliva testing first. She makes recommendations only based on labs, so that the dosing fits exactly with your results for each time of day you were tested.
