How low did you start then??? that's a normal starting dose that you are on after 2.5 months!! Going up too slowly can leave you feeling more hypo as it upsets the internal feedback system reducing output and not replacing the amount it reduced by. There is a lot about dosing Natural (or T4/T3 compounded) on the STTM site on the page called " things we have learnt " >YESTERDAY, I started the cynomel only, 12.5 in am and >12.5 in afternoon. Did the same today. That doubled the T3 dose you were on overnight!!! > Tonight I have been getting either >anxiety/ chest type pounding (pulse is 76). I remembered sea salt a few minutes >ago, drank some water w/ 1/2 t. sea salt and whatever this is seemed to calm >down a bit supplementing the salt is good if it helps. The pulse rate is fine, the pounding sounds like there may be some adrenal issues going on >. My ferritin is right on the line (around 50), and taking iron >supplement, and had adrenals tested 6 mos ago and they were ok. I am thinking >this is anxiety, although I have a bit of an occipital headache, too. > Anxiety is a common effect of low iron causing T3 intolerance. >Help? I was hoping this would go a little more smoothly out of the chutes. Do >I need more, do I need less? Drop down to 12.5 a day in 2 doses (6.25 each) for a couple of days and then build up from there Have a read of the dosing page http://thyroid-rt3.com/dosing.htm If you had read that before you started you would have started at 12.5 a day instead of 25 a day. With low iron you are going to have to edge up more slowly than most people. Guest guest
Nick,I agree completely, with only being up to 1 grain total in 2.5 mos. had really gotten the best of me. I have felt horrible for so long, had finally had some hope with getting some thyroid meds. But consequently have really felt like crap coming up so slowly w/ compounded thyroid. But it is what my doctor would order, and that is what finally lead me to this site and your site, so I guess at least I found this RT3 info. I thought I read through your dosing info correctly. Also, I did a quick consult, but perhaps this brain fog is so far in the way that I am incorrect. I just looked again and yes, I am incorrect. It was 12.5mcg cynomel total. Question though...if cynomel works mostly for 3 hours, how come if I took the dose at 1pm, I got the heart palps/anxiety at 8pm? I will make sure to go up slowly, I would rather this be less difficult as possible. Thanks again,Nanci B. Guest guest
Hi Nick,I had them (adrenal-saliva tests) 1 yr ago and they were fatigued, got put on 6 mos of adrenal support (Adren-all), retested 6 mos ago and they were much better (good). Thought since the test came back good, I would wait until I was a little further into the RT3 clearing process to get them re-checked, along with an iron panel around the same time and see how my body was handling everything. I am completely financially tapped out due to my quest of many doctors and trials of this and that. I have to save up to get them done again, and now it should be easier because the compounded thyroid I was taking the past couple months was expensive and now I don't have to take it. Yay!Nanci B.To: RT3_T3 Sent: Wed, August 11, 2010 7:49:52 AMSubject: Re: anxiety? palps? > >I thought I read through your dosing info correctly. Do the poor man's adrenal check then and do some temperature averaging, I've got a feeling your adrenals are not up to it and you need to know if that's the case http://thyroid-rt3.com/temperat.htm talks a lot about temperature Nick -- for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to www.thyroid-rt3.com For lots of good information of adrenal issues http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com/ and the adrenal group on http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
