Guest guest
Hi Val, Nick, Margery,I have been on iron for two years now and my last labs showed my ferritin had climbed to 254. I had started out with 4 caps per day, brought it down to three caps per day and these labs values reflect my levels while taking 2-27mg Bluebonnet Iron capsules daily. I have again cut my dose back to only one 27mg capsule daily, for about two weeks now. What I have been noticing lately is about thirty minutes after I do take my iron my heart rate goes up and I get sort of jittery. I didn't think I should entirely come off my iron since I had a problem with low ferritin in the past but is this symptoms quite possibly from too much iron? And if so, what should I do? I don't want to stop taking the iron if it is going to deplete, but I don't like this feeling either. Any suggestions as to what I should do is appreciated. If I come off of the iron completely how will I know that it is not just slowly depleting to the point that I will eventually develop problems taking my T3? Thanks as always!Cindy
Guest guest
Have you tested other iron labs? I woudl stop the iron as your bopdy may be holding it much better with the raised T3. http://www.nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://www.health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://www.faqhelp.webs.com/ http://www.health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ Hi Val, Nick, Margery, I have been on iron for two years now and my last labs showed my ferritin had climbed to 254. Guest guest
Yes I did...along with the 251(10-220) Ferritin I have the following: iron serum 100 (35-145) Unsat IBC 188(155-300) Cal Total IBC 288(250-450 Cal %Iron Sat 35(20-50) So you think I should entirely come off the iron and see if my body retains is now?? How long should I wait to retest and see if I'm holding on to it? Thanks Val! Oh, Another note: Lately things have been fantastic! My temps are even wonderful all day long. My skin and hair are better, weight loss etc, etc. but I STILL have this terrible low back and joint pain. What could be causing these lingering problem?? Any ideas?
