You might want to try the multi digestive vegetarian enzymes from Source Naturals. I get mine from vitacost.com because they are much cheaper than the vitamin stores, even the discount ones.

I was on Prevacid at double the dose recommended for quite some time and we

finally figured out that I didn't have excess acid, I had low acid. When I went

off prevacid I needed HCL with each meal along with broad spectrum digestive

enzymes - after about 2 years I was able to drop it to once a day, but I still

take digestive enzymes with every meal. I read on the Alliance for Natural

Health that there is an investigation into proton pump inhibiters as there is

wide-spread belief that they create worse problems than they solve.

Another thing to keep in mind is that you need stomach acid for HC to work well.

RoniI've been on omeprazole for the past couple of years, on and off. My oesophagus problem (reflux) just can't be controlled without it.I've tried different kind of digestive enzymes, they just bloat me and do nothing for my oesphagus.

Christel2010/9/5 Roni Molin

I was also put on omeprazole and after a while on it I started to feel awful too. Headache,

nausea. I couldn't figure out what was going on until I stopped it. Then the symptoms went away. Maybe you could try stopping the omeparazole and see what happens. If you're having digestion problems, digestive enzymes work wonders.

If you start with the omeprazole, you have to go slowly or you'll get all kinds of nasty side effects indeed.I know it's filth, but I've tried them all, and the omeprazole is the only one I can somewhat tolerate.

I also have to say I can't take omeprazole. I get dizzy, headache, nausea, achy all over, disoriented. So they tried me on Protonix instead and the symtoms I had were like a stroke. I was slurring my speech, coudn't lift my arms, in-coherent, could barely move my body, vision changes. So I definitely can't take any of those kinds of medication.

I've tried the HCL, it's just makes my oesopaghus irritiation worse and it gives me sharp pain in the stomach area.I've had a stomach evacuation test twice, it turns out I digest food faster than regular, not slower.

As I've said, I've tried all kind of brands of digestive enzymes, they just give me an uncomfortable and bloated feeling, but do nothing for my irritation. Thanks for your reaction.
