Guest guest
>Is it easy to switch from SRT3 to Cytomel? Generally yes, it's potentially stronger so start at between 1/2 and 2/3 the dose of the SR and go up if needed. Between 3 and 5 doses a day seems to work for most people depending on the state of their adrenals > I thought the sustained release stuck with me better and more evenly but it's terribly pricey. I have to do tiny doses sometimes so I have to have a variety of strengths to use at times. It just depends on what my body can take. But it's just so costly. I do have trouble making it to 8 hours between doses but to add in more will add more to the cost. If I make a switch I have to have a plan on dosing. Right now I do three doses/day. I've only seen Cytomel come in 5 mcg strengths. I'm not sure I got that label right, mcg vs. mg? What other doses does it come in? Cytomel comes in 5 and 25. People can split the 25 in half. Cynomel (the Mexican one made by Grossman) which is $50 for 300 tablets of 25mcg each easily splits in half and can be quartered with care. you can " fine tune " dosing by altering the time between doses Nick -- for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to www.thyroid-rt3.com For lots of good information of adrenal issues http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com/ and the adrenal group on http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
Guest guest
So if my adrenals are a total mess, then would it be better to take more smaller doses throughout the day? Last night after I had increased 24 hours prior, I hit some problems with a cross between hyper/near pass out with heart problems. That's what happens with me. I chose to drop the Levoxyl today because of that. Now I'm at 13 mcg/T3 only. Love your webpage on RT3. Thanks. A lot of it made sense to me. It explains why I would have to increase every 4th day. > > >Is it easy to switch from SRT3 to Cytomel? > > Generally yes, it's potentially stronger so start at between 1/2 and > 2/3 the dose of the SR and go up if needed. > > Between 3 and 5 doses a day seems to work for most people depending on > the state of their adrenals > > > I thought the sustained release stuck with me better and more evenly but it's terribly pricey. Guest guest
>So if my adrenals are a total mess, then would it be better to take more smaller doses throughout the day? Yes, each time you take some T3 it uses up some cortisol, if your adrenals are weak it uses it faster than you can make more. " Little and often " avoids that > Last night after I had increased 24 hours prior, I hit some problems with a cross between hyper/near pass out with heart problems. That's what happens with me. A lot of it made sense to me. It explains why I would have to increase every 4th day. Glad it helps, I am planning some major updates as I have learnt a lot since putting that together.
