OK the <20 means less than 20 or negative. It does nto look like you

are necessarily not makign enough thyroid, it is just not converting

properly so your FT3 has dropped and RT3 risen. As you are veggie, I

suspect lwo iron. I would recommend a FULL iron panel as if htis is the

cause of your RT3 you may be able to take ironand T3 for a while and

correct the problem.

Thank you ....so I'm taking this to mean that I wouldn't need to

necessarily be on the T3 forever?

I did get a prescription for the iron at 65mg/day, but perhaps this isn't

enough? Is there some other brand OTC that you would recommend? I don't think

my Doc. will go for a higher number via prescription.

Should I start the T3 at her recommendation of 25mcg? She said it was the

smallest dose, and then titrate up? Or just see how it goes....then go up? Or

not, if I'm doing better?

Sorry so many questions. This whole process is a kick in the seat.

You need ot get an iron panel and stop iron supplemnts for at least 5

days before testign. That ay we wil knwo for certain it si low iromn

causing this and How much to supplement to bring it up. Takign iron

wihtout labs is not wise as too much can be harmful. Yes with your

thyroid able ot make decent T4 levels you shoudl be abel to wean off the

T3 once the Rt3 has been reduced and the cause of it corrected.

YAY! Thank you . I will do that as soon as I can afford to do it.

When my doctor (non-Kaiser, I found her on my own) put me on iron it was like a

night and day mood thing. I immediately felt so uplifted. Incredible. I will

get the panel when I get paid next month, and post results.

Thanks so much, again. From what I've seen on here, you should be dubbed St.

!
