Guest guest
Hi Val. I wanted to bounce a few things off you again regarding aldosterone. Just a reminder I have tested high for aldosterone twice: once 24 hr urine test and recently blood test. However, blood pressure shows low aldosterone-116/64. So you recommended I add salt to everything I drink. I started doing this, along with drinking mineral water, and after about a day-in-half I woke up feeling good! Couldn't believe it. It has been months of waking up feeling like I had a hangover. I was hopeful......then I ovulated and immediatly things went down hill. I wake up with the feeling that something very heavy is sitting on my chest. It feels hard to get a full breath and at times uncomfortable to finish a sentecene. This is NOT new since adding salt. This has been an issue for a awhile(i was hopeful that the salt woudl help this problem). I have noticed for years that something is not right during the second half of my cycle. All my "hypo" symptoms become worse at this time. I can't help but think it is aldosterone related. Don't know if it's high or low. I also wonder if it could be endometerosis. You have had experience with endomeeriosso right? Can you tell me about it? Can you tell me how I might figure out if I have it? I have a very strong family history of it-mother, maternal grandmother, sister. Can endometerosis and aldosterone be related somehow? I do plan on retested in a few weeks and also plan on scheduling an appointment with my dr. I really doubt he is going to be of any help though. Thanks for your help,S

Guest guest
The main precursor for aldosterone is progesteoine which is highest the coupole weeks before your period. I am wondering if you have high aldosterone then and lwo the rest of the month. What times in your cycle were your tests done? Guest guest
I have been reading about aldosterone rising with progesterone. I do believe that is the connection during my lutueal phase, but I am not sure why. Unless all my progesterone is going towards cortisol and aldosterone while test., dhea, ect.. suffer. Two years ago I did a 24 hr urine test that showed very high levels of progesterone and aldosterone. But just a few months ago I did a serum progesterone during my lutueal phase and here are the results: progesterone 15.7 (3.3-28) estradiol 112 (<=247) *dr said the ratio was good between the two free test. 1.4 (0.1-6.4) have been supplementing 2mg sublingual drops. is not making a difference dhea 40 (27-199) I tested aldosterone last week on day 4 of menstrual cycle and it was even high during that time. I hope this helps shed some light. I am going crazy over this!
