I am not a moderator but I believe it was said that it is from low cortisol. I have or had low cortisol in the morning and that is when I would get the internal shaking or shivering. It would only last a couple of minutes but it sure was annoying.VeniziaSubject: internal shaking / shiversTo: RT3_T3 Date: Monday, August 23, 2010, 3:29 PM

Hi everyone,

What is internal shaking feeling/ the shivers internally a symptom of? I read about it here and realized it completely described a symptom of mine, but of course I cannot for the life of me remember anything else/ where I read it :(

I have it pretty bad... What are you supposed to do about it?

Thanks everyone.

Sure, mine are like when your heart is beating super fast but it's in the chest/stomach area where it is fluttering or shaking. My pulse will be fine but there is this internal shaking.VeniziaSubject: Re: internal shaking / shiversTo: RT3_T3 Date: Monday, August 23, 2010, 5:29 PM

Hi, can you describe how those shivers / shaking feels? I might have it.

It's possible you might need to go to a cardiologist and get tested for afib or aflutter.

Internal shaking can also come from low blood sugar. The next time it happens try drinking orange juice or eating a couple of life savers or even a teaspoon of sugar. If the shaking goes away it was low blood sugar. Then you'd need to be tested for hypoglycemia and diabetes.

thanks roni,

but it's not low blood sugar. i know that type of internal shaking you are

talking about and it's different than that one. i know the low blood sugar one

well :)

this is the same as venezia described, but without the rapid heart...

it very well may be low cortisol as my saliva results were normal w/high night

cortisol, but val said my symptoms suggests LOW cortisol, and that i should be

taking my bp.... i can't afford a monitor right now so i guess i'll have to

wait. thanks recession!!!

They have bp monitors in some of the pharmacies. You can take it right there in the store. I've done it myself before I got a monitor. At least it would give you SOME indication.

No, I do not think this is heart related Roni. I am just saying it is that type of feeling. Since I dealt with my low cortisol in the morning (and this is when I had it) that feeling has gone away. It was as I was waking and last for just a few min.Venizia

thanks roni, i did take my bp there one day last weekend i think it was? but i

was thinking val was suggesting daily monitoring? not sure as i'm not yet

familiar w/ the bp part of this process... venezia is lucky she only had it a

few min. i have it all day. it seems to be less when i am not sitting though,

as in sitting in bed (working from home) or in bed on the computer. (i spend a

lot of time on my laptop in bed)... when i am out and about it's not as bad,

it's there, but just not AS BAD.

I'm not totally convinced you are not having an arrhythmia problem. Try taking your pulse several times a day when sitting down. Use an analog clock. If your pulse is too erratic to

count, you could be having an arrhythmia of one type or another. I have afib which is mediated from the vagus nerve, and if I bend over or sit leaning to the left side or sleep on my left side in bed it could start up.

Try to investigate calmly so that you'll get a more accurate result. Good luck.

Anytime I shake like that, it's low cortisol. I usually add 2.5 - 5 mg. HC and it stops within half an hour.<<Posted by: "" roth.39@... lroth39Mon Aug 23, 2010 7:09 pm (PDT)thanks roni, but it's not low blood sugar. i know that type of internal shaking you are talking about and it's different than that one. i know the low blood sugar one well :)this is the same as venezia described, but without the rapid heart...it very well may be low cortisol as my saliva results were normal w/high night cortisol, but val said my symptoms suggests LOW cortisol, and that i should be taking my bp.... i can't afford a monitor right now so i guess i'll have to wait. thanks recession!!!lisa>> Kem in Eugene <º)))><

Liza,I don't remember, did you have the 24 hr saliva test. My cortisol was below range in the morning. The rest of the day it was in range but on the low side. Which is why I believe I had the internal shaking in the morning. I think this topic is boarding on Adrenals so I am stopping this topic......don't want to get Val upset.VeniziaSubject: Re: internal shaking / shiversTo: RT3_T3 Date: Tuesday, August 24, 2010, 12:38 AM

For me, the internal shaking almost feels like you're vibrating inside. It's not

visible shaky, like tremors.

I never thought of it, either. I saw someone else describe it that way a long

time ago and I thought " AHA! That's how it feels! " LOL

For anyone who's ever been withdrawing off of benzodiazapines, it also feels

like that, the same kind of internal shakiness.
