Guest guest
Hi -I'm so sorry for your recent loss. I'm sure that you are feeling hopeless...I felt like I was hit by a truck when I learned about my UU. The internet info doesn't help matters, either. The good news is that there are a lot of UU success stories here (mine included...I have a DS who will turn 2 next week. He was born at 36 weeks.) The UUs here seem to have had a variety of experiences. Some of the ladies have had smooth, full-term pregnancies (even twins) and others (like me) had to deal with preterm labor, (PTL) incompetent cervix, (IC) or growth restriction (IUGR.) I spent 18 weeks on bedrest and ptl meds. Have they given you many answers about your m/c...was your UU the cause? What are your doctors telling you they would do differently next time around? A UU pregnancy should be monitored very closely and have frequent u/s to measure cervical length. I'd also assume that your docs would consider a cerclage if your loss was due to IC. At least you know about your UU now...not that it makes any of this any easier. Your docs would know to be very careful and very proactive. I'm sorry that this has been so hard for you. Don't lose hope...there is a lot that can be done. Be sure to ask lots of questions and get a few 2nd opinions if that would set your mind at ease. I wish you all the best... Take care, UU, 30 DS 8-31-03 2 m/cs ttc for #
Guest guest
I feel like I'm dying here. My Dr. Hertoghe is away til September and I'm getting worse. I am doing less than 1/2 tea spoon sea salt daily. Had a high 146 reading fasting a morning 3-4 days ago, and 2 days ago it was 138 in the evening AFTER drinking sea salt. I don't get it. Why does my values change without sense? So it's day 4 with headache, but last night I drank some extra sea salt. Maybe 1/2 tea spoon + on the food and some chips. Today I have a very bloated face and feel I am retaining water in my face and inside my head. My blood is getting thicker too. Hematocrite is at 57 (40 - 50), Hemoglobin at 18 (14.3 - 17.0). Is this from taking testosterone every day? I am on 2 pumps 10% gel daily. It is 200 mg testosterone in those 2 pumps, since late April 2010.I am on 30 mg HC, 105 (since yesterday, was 90) mg ERFA Thyroid, 2 pumps testo gel 10% (200 mg), 35 mg DHEA every other day. What do I do? I am clueless, suffering and feel scared right now. in Norway
Guest guest
Ok, let's talk about ALDOSTERONE (and salt) but first:I never got a real diagnose, not even today. Dunno what's wrong with me, Hypo Type 2, Hypo, No Hypo at all, Hypogonadism!? Nobody tells me anything........I understand, and feel, I am on too low Thyroid dose. Hertoghe's plan was to not give me a lot of Thyroid, but rather treat me with other hormones as well, balancing all out, taking stress off of the Thyroid system. Lowering Thyroid, adding Growth Hormone, he believes that can work.I still haven't started taking Growth Hormone. I am now trying to increase from 90 to 105 mg ERFA Thyroid, while I wait to decide to take Growth Hormone or not. Hertoghe is clearly dissappointed (I talked to him) that I haven't started the injections yet. I just do NOT want to do any mistakes. He, and his apprentice doctor, both tells me that it's not the IGF-1 that matters, it's the relation between IGF-1 and the IGFBP-3 that matters. My IGFBP-3 is too high so I won't get to use my availabke IGF-1 they say.Right now, however; My headache is killing me. I am concerned about salt and aldosterone. I recently did aldosterone tests both in urine and in serum, in April, and in July. In April, I stayed away from all salt for 24 hours, THEN did the 24 hour test with urine, to make sure the test was gonna be PERFECT. Aldosterone came out mid-range. How can I possibly have low aldosterone if it wasn't low in that test? Look at this:April 15th 2010Aldosterone Urine 24 hours: 50 nmol/24hr (Range: 5 - 77)Aldosterone Serum: 343 pmol/l (Range: 70 - 800)I think I even had a sip of my sea salt before I collected my urine, meaning Aldosterone in urine should be even a small tad higher than that. So anyways, looks like my Aldosterone IS adequate! or Nick, what is your take on that? Your opinions are highly valued.MY BOTTOM LINE ABOUT SALT: Maybe I shouldn't have any extra salt intake, as those test results looked good!? But WHY is my serum sodium electrolyte test always 138 when I test it in the evening AFTER drinking 1/2 (or more) tea spoon sea salt daily? What should we follow - The aldosterone results, OR the serum sodium results while supplementing with sea salt!?!?So lost, > >What do I do? I am clueless, suffering and feel scared right now. You've stayed hypo, 1.5 grains is barely enough for anyone, and if you have type 2 it will be enough to lower your own production but not replace what it suppresses. If you are going to stay on Natural go to this link, read number 6 and then read the whole page several times http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/things-we-have-learned/ As to why your sodium levels bounce I would revisit Aldosterone. http://nthadrenalsweb.org/what-is-aldosterone.php This has a day/night rhythm, maybe at some times of the day yours is out of balance. Guest guest
Thbis is not the group for aldosterone. This is for T3 only issue. s http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ Ok, let's talk about ALDOSTERONE (and salt) but first: I never got a real diagnose, not even today. I am not an adrenal person and know even less about aldosteone. The adrenal group and their web site are at the end of here. Use their archives and look at suitable threads. You do need to decide which route you are going to take an follow it, if you lowered Erfa for a reason and then didn't follow that reason you can't expect to feel well. You are not following the adrenal group pattern of HC, you are not following the STTM or RT3 dosing of thyroid, because you see Dr H. If you don't follow his treatment plan either it's no wonder that you are feeling rough, you are under treating yourself by everyone's plan. You need to decide on a route to take and stick with it until you prove it doesn't work and try something else but it's no good not following any. Nick -- for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to www.thyroid-rt3.com For lots of good information of adrenal issues http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com/ and the adrenal group on http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/
