Guest guest
Here is my take on this it's all about how long your Adrenals have been over worked and how bad off they are. Taking things to make burned out Adrenals work harder is nuts pregnenolone can do this. Some people that find out they have bad Adrenals of low Cortisol levels that are in the first stages of it can fix it with a life change and supplements. But for most this is not the case doing a 4x's in a day Saliva test will show how bad off you are and what stage you at. The idea about HC is it lets your Adrenals rest wile you support your body with it and in time they will heal and start working again. To do this one needs about 20 mgs of HC total a day taken is small dose's like 5 mgs 4x's a day. Problem is finding a good Dr. that knows how to test and treat this. Guest guest
You really need to read the first person accounts of side effects--page down http://www.raysahelian.com/pregnenolone.html 500 mg pregnenolone daily?!! I got palpitations on 5 mg. I now take 2.5 mg on Tue and Fri only, so a total of 5 mg per WEEK. For me, I believe it has brought up my testosterone levels, though I don't have labs yet, just great muscle tone for someone who doesn't do much. Both DH and I tried DHEA with poor results. In him, I believe it turned to estrogen and made him more depressed. In me, it lowered my cortisol and I'd wake hungry in the middle of the night. My DHEA is now at top of range with just the little pregnenolone I take. I do, however, agree with the first statement, about splitting up doses as much as possible. We both dose 4x/day, always have. He has been on HC and Isocort and has since weaned off. I have only used it very sparingly, like from exhaustion from yardwork in the heat. Maybe taking a pill at 4 p.m and 8 p.m. when my energy was flagging, and then back to nothing the next day. I know this is extremely unconventional, but it works for me. They recommend splicing up you thyroid into many different doses to accomodate lower or uneven cortisol levels...gradually over time, they beleive that the thyroid will fix the adrenals....if its done in many doses rather than two or three doses...which could be unduly straining the adrenals....they also beleive that large doses...300-500 mgs of pregnenolone should be given daily to support the adrenals...they do not advocate the use of DHEA....anyone have any thoughts on this?? >
Guest guest
thanks Phil...DHEA and Pregnenolone are not having positive effects for me so I will stop them...an earlier saliva test showed I wasnt in bad shape...then I went on T3 only therapy...and seemed to do better for a time....but now I am feeling bad again...But my quack doctor put me on pregnenolone and DHEA because my lab values were low....but its clear they are just making me worse. I was hoping they would help to stabilize cortisol...my testosterone is really low too....I think I am going to go to the Tahoma clinic for assistance...there must be some doctor in this country who can fix this! > > > From: hcallahann44 > > Subject: Getting around cortisol problems... > > To: RT3_T3 > > Date: Sunday, August 1, 2010, 11:52 AM > > All...some biochemists I consult with > > do not favor any kind of HC treatment to support cortisol > > levels.
