Guest guest
Well, if it were me and I went of my CYTOMEL, I would get hypo not hyper BUT if you have hashi's you may be in the attack mode because of the antibodies doing their dirty work. You should get the antibodies test which is TgAb and TPO.VeniziaSubject: Re: BUMP BUMP Hashi's/hyper???To: RT3_T3 Date: Monday, August 23, 2010, 9:12 PM > > Three days ago I stopped taking my Cynomel because I am just not tolerating it (low iron/ferritin). Anyway, the past two days now I have been very hyper as in too much energy, can't concentrate, focus or sit still. Now the moderators have told me I have Hashi's although the doctor never did and I don't know a whole lot about Hashi's versus RT3 and so forth. I would assume by going off the cynomel that I would have gone hyper not hypo unless it was indeed Hashi's. I am still taking Isocort but I don't think that would bring this on. Any thoughts? >
Guest guest
Hi Diane, The symptoms were all hyper symptoms that I would get after taking my two daily doses of it and I remember reading that you should never start trying to correct RT3 if your ferritin in under 50 - well mine was 18 back in April and I had been taking iron for a good three months and figured, ok I should be good to go. So started on the cynomel, continued on iron and Isocort. My hair started falling out (which it had not been), more fatigue, and then as I tried to raise up the cynomel I was dizzy and shaking to the point that I knew if I didn't lay down I would pass out. This was happening twice a day and I would have to lay down for 1/2 hour to an hour waiting for the dizziness to pass. As soon as I stopped the cynomel it went away and my hair stopped falling out. So I have to assume that my iron (my iron was low to the point that I am clinically anemic) and ferritin had not come up enough to begin RT3 treatment. So I'm keeping up with the iron supplements and will get levels tested in two or three months and hopefully will be able to restart with the cynomel. Guest guest
Diane - meant to say hypo not hyper in that first sentence.
