Here are my latest labs, can someone please advise me as to what looks good,

what doesn't and if so how to fix?

TSH <0.01 (0.35 - 5.50 mIu/L)

fT4 9.0 (9.0 - 25.0 pmol/L)

fT3 11.8 (3.5 - 6.5 pmol/L)

my fT4 was 8.4 4 weeks ago, why has this gone up but so has my fT3 (was 9.3) I

am week 13 SRt3 120mcg per day. My doc is a bit concerned by the high fT3, is

it too high or should it be higher?

Vit D 174 (60 - 160 nmol/L)

B12 565 (>180 pmol/L)

RBC Folate 1473 (>400 nmol/L)

Sodium 140 (135 - 145)

Potassium 3.9 (3.7 - 5.3)

Is my potassium OK or too low? What about sodium?

Iron 14.0 (9.0 - 26.0)

Transferrin 2.45 (2.10 - 3.80)

Saturation 23% (13 - 51%)

Ferritin 83

My ferritin is up from 50 in Feb and 9 in May 2009, but my saturation is only

23%. Why is this and what can i do to improve this.

Thanks for advice.

Your IRON is too lwo which si causing the T3 to POOL in your blod making

it look too high., Your body knows how hypo you are inthe cells so it si

stil making T4 inspite of this. You need ot riase iron and reduce T3

until you get the iron higher. There is no point in keeping the high

blood levels of T3 when oyur body cannot utilize ti this only creates

more adrenal stress.

Thanks Val. Now i am a bit confused, my ferritin is good right? So what should

my iron be? I have been supplementing about 150mg iron per day, should I keep

going with that amount. What should i drop my T3 down to and for how long?

Lastly, are my potassium and sodium levels OK?

Val, so I just have to keep going with the iron supplements to get the

saturation up to 35%? You mentioned that i should lower T3, how much should i

lower, I dropped from 120mcg SRt3 to 100mcg today. Should I go lower than that

- how will I know if it is too low?

Thanks for your invaluable advice as always.

One last thing, my pulse in the last few weeks has been racing a lot during the

day sometimes up to 112 (normally it is around 80). I am very aware of my heart

beating and it is really beginning to distress me, sometimes I wake up with it.

I have added salt and that doesn't seemed to have helped. What could be causing

this and how do i stop it?

Low T3 causes slow pulse but pounding and irregular pulse can be form

lwo iron or lwo T3.
