Guest guest
Have you been on any thyroid med OTHER than T3-ONLY for these past four months? Because for being on T3-ONLY for four months, your Reverse T3 is higher than I would expect. After being on T3-only for four months my own RT3 was near ZERO. RT3 is made from T4. IF you are on enough T3-only to suppress your own T4 production, and IF you are not taking any T4 (or thyroid med containing T4), I just don't see what your RT3 is being made from. I would agree you are hypo, your RT3 high enough to be blocking T3 receptors; T3 can't get in and do it's job. I calculate your FT3/RT3 ratio as 16; anything under 20 indicates an RT3 problem. PS. Ferritin looks OK, but since it is possible for it to come back false-high, we now recommend an iron panel test showing % saturation. For best thyroid utilization, % saturation should be 35-45. > > Quest Labs > ********** > Tsh- 2.51 (0.40-4.50)mIU/L > T4, free- 1.1 (0.8-1.8)ng/dl > T3, free- 365 (230-420)pg/dl > Rev T3- 23 (11-32)ng/dl > > ferritin- 112 (20-345)ng/ml > > ** I have been on 15-20mg hc and 50-75mcg t3 for about 4 months prior to this test.... Comparing this current blood test to my previous blood tests of years past when I started experiencing possible hypo/adrenal problems show roughly the same values... the only thing that has significantly changed is that my tsh is the highest it has ever been for me... I have always been around 2.2-2.3 and now I am up to 2.5 and still experiencing severe hypo symptoms (fatigue, depression and severe diffuse " hypo pattern " hairloss (I went from a full head of hair just 5 months ago to extremely thin, shedding, wispy hair... Guest guest
TSH goes up when the pituitary gland detects inadequate thyroid hormone in the blood. 50-75mcg T3-only is not " severely underdosed " for RT3 clearance purposes. But since your RT3 is still too high, there is something clearly not working in this equation. I don't know what T3 you were on, some are substantially weaker than others. I (luckily) do not have any experience with " fake " T3. I take Cynomel from Mexico and it reduced my RT3 to near-zero. Going on Armour or equivalent Natural Thyroid might make your RT3 problem worse; they would contain T4, the raw material for RT3. Guest guest
I was taking Tiromel from Turkey... Val had warned me about it possibly being too low dosed but it was all I had and had to make the best of it.... As I said earlier, I do have 3 bottles of cynomel (mexico) arriving in few days thanks to the help of Val. Now, should I restart over my rt3 treatment when I recieve the cynomel? and should I also continue on the HC... as of now I have been off of HC for the past 8 days and I have been taking 300mg of micronized pregnenelone in place of it (150mg am/ 150mg pm)... Could I possibly take t3 without the need to take HC... In the past I really thought I was having adrenal probs that were causing my hypo symptoms but now I think it was the RT3 and hypothyroid state I am currently in that is causing all of my problems... any thoughts...? > > > > > > > > Quest Labs > > > > ********** > > > > Tsh- 2.51 (0.40-4.50)mIU/L > > > > T4, free- 1.1 (0.8-1.8)ng/dl > > > > T3, free- 365 (230-420)pg/dl > > > > Rev T3- 23 (11-32)ng/dl > > > > > > > > ferritin- 112 (20-345)ng/ml > > > > > > > > ** I have been on 15-20mg hc and 50-75mcg t3 for about 4 months prior to this test....
