Guest guest
Adding T4 is not going to help it wil simply create more RT3. You need ot correct the intolerance issues and that would bne low coritosl low estrogne and lwo iron. http://www.nthadrenalsweb.com http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://artisticgrooming.net/ > I was at 31.25 t3. Guest guest
There are 2 basic methods of BHRT. One is to have the same low dose (Dr Lee's theory: the lowest amount necessary to ease neg. symptoms) which you take the same of for you estrogen and your progesterone (usually not advisable to take estrogen without also taking progesterone during a 28 day month)...the other method is a dosing that follows the normal ryhtym of a woman's hormonal cycle in her reproducitve prime( TS Wiley's theory: estrogen only for the first half of 28 days in a gradual curve, and then estogen level and low while progesterone added in a gradual curve for the last half of the 28 days). The Dr Lee type dosing usually goes 3 weeks of taking the same doses of both estrogen and progesterone and then 1 week off. The Wiley type dosing follows a rhythm which is different every day of the 28 days. You can google the various theories and recommendations for Dr. lee and for TS Wiley (the Wiley protocol). but the bottom line is that one needs to know where their levels are in order to determine how much they need to add. Obviously if you had a hysterectomy your needs will be far greater. Do you have any progesterone production of your own? You need progesterone to balance the estrogen. It is unsafe to take estrogen without the progesterone to balance it out. after 1 year on the Wiley prototcol and 7 months on the Dr Lee type static dosing I have finaly come to a dosing that is working for me both to alleviate any neg symptoms as well as give good "well being" feeling and balance. For everyone it will be different. What I have come to is a variation of both methods. I follow the Wiley rythmn dosing with about 1/3 the estrogen and about half the progesterone, and take 4 days off when I get a period. The dr lee school of though says better not to get a period. the wiley school of thought says you need to get a period to assure disease prevention into old age. I tried both ways. I decided I feel best with this dosing and I feel best when I have a normal cycle with a period. many people are happier without the period. if I take too much estrogen or too much progesterone i have short cycles, PMS symptoms and sometimes estrogen dominance issues. It took a lot to get to the right dosing FOR ME. You can't get only 1 aspect of your hormones balanced. You can't go after only your sex hormone issues or only your thyroid hormone issues or only your adrenal issues. You have to approach them as a complex system like a mobile...if one is out of balance, they all will be. It takes a lot of testing, a lot of intuitive listening, a lot of reading and asking quesitons with great groups like this one, and a doc who will listen and learn with you. You don't need a knowledgable doc as much as you need an open minded doc who will listed to info you bring them. So bottom line you need to attack from all sides the various issues. if you are only taking estrogen and no progesterone and you haven't tested your various hormone levels then you need to check all those. i don't take testosterone, but i do take 50 mg DHEA and 200 mg 7-keto DHEA along with my bioidentical transdermal estradiol and progesterone. I have my cortisol checked a few times a year. You can do this, it is just going to take time, testing, reading, and trail and error and patience. all the best of luck! Sharon Remember!
